  • Patent number: 6684547
Abstract: A recoil dampening assembly for a firearm that includes a bolt assembly and a stock that is linearly moveable with respect to the bolt assembly, includes a plurality of elastically deformable shock-absorbing members having a compression cavity defined therein, and a plurality of rigid spacers interspaced between the shock absorbing members. The plurality of shock absorbing members and rigid spacers are adapted to be placed between a bolt assembly of a firearm and a stock of a firearm. The plurality of shock-absorbing members and rigid spacers are adapted to dampen the recoil as transmitted from the bolt assembly to the stock when a charge that is in the firearm is ignited by allowing each shock absorbing member to at least partially compress within the compression zone.

  • Patent number: 6678988
Abstract: A recoil dampening device for a gun sight includes a first rail member adapted to fixedly mount to a firearm, wherein the first rail member has an elongated body portion and a pair of mounting flanges extending outwardly from and longitudinally along the body portion, and a second rail member having an elongated downwardly opening channel that slidably receives the body portion and mounting flanges of the first rail member therein, wherein the second rail member is adapted to releasably support a gun sight thereon. The sight base also includes at least one deformable recoil absorbing member disposed between the first rail member and the second rail member, wherein the recoil absorbing member is adapted to reduce the recoil transferred from the firearm to the gun sight when the firearm is fired.

  • Patent number: 6526686
Abstract: An electric charging system for a firearm includes a port in operable communication with a chamber adapted to receive an amount of expanding gas created by an ignited charge, and a cavity in operable communication with the port and adapted to receive an amount of the expanding gas therefrom. The charging system also includes a charging assembly in operable communication with the cavity, wherein the charging assembly creates an electric charge when impinged by the expanding gas located within the cavity, and a conductor in electrical communication with the charging assembly, wherein the conductor receives the electrical charge from the charging assembly. The charging system further includes a power storage unit in electrical communication with the conductor, wherein the storage unit stores the electrical charge received from the conductor.

  • Patent number: 6516698
Abstract: A firearm muzzle brake for utilization for a projectile surrounded by a sabot includes an outer housing, a baffle received within the outer housing and having a bore extending therethrough, and an inner core received within the bore of the baffle and having a bore extending therethrough. The bore of the core has a first section having a diameter that is adapted to allow a sabot to partially tear away from an associated projectile as the projectile and sabot travel through the first section of the bore of the core, and a second section having a second diameter that is adapted to hold the sabot in close contact with the projectile as the projectile travels through the second section of the bore of the core.
