  • Patent number: 11268549
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydraulic actuator comprising a cylinder (1) in which a piston (2) secured to a rod (4) is mounted so as to slide in a sealed manner in order to delimit in the cylinder a hydraulic extension chamber (5) and a hydraulic retraction chamber (6) that are connected to respective ports, the hydraulic actuator comprising means for slowing the piston when the piston approaches a retracted position. According to the invention, the slowing means comprise first and second hydraulic lines (7, 8) extending between the extension port and the extension chamber, the first hydraulic line comprising a seat (13) while the piston bears a retractable finger (10) having an end (14) that comes to bear against the seat in order to close the first hydraulic line (7) when the piston approaches the retracted position, such that only the second hydraulic line (8) remains open while the piston completes its travel towards the retracted position. • Publication number: 20210311072
Abstract: A method for absolute protein or peptide quantitation by mass spectroscopy. A sample containing a protein or peptide of interest is prepared for mass spectroscopy analysis. The sample is subjected to mass spectroscopy analysis at low resolution whereby a single additive mass spectroscopy peak is obtained, then is subjected to high resolution mass spectroscopy analysis whereby a plurality of mass spectroscopy peaks are obtained. The intensity of each of the plurality of mass spectroscopy peaks is quantitated either by comparison to an internal standard set, or by using a standard curve generated for each isotopologue set. Quantitation using a standard curve enhances quantitation across a dynamic range of analyte.

  • Publication number: 20210235209
Abstract: An external portion of an auditory prosthesis includes an external magnet that interacts with an implantable magnet to hold the external portion against the skin. Magnetic force generated by the stray field of these magnets can disturb the operation of a vibrating element of the auditory prosthesis. The technologies described herein utilize additional magnets disposed within portions of the auditory prosthesis to redirect the magnetic flux, which allows the vibrating element to be disposed more closely to the magnets, reducing the overall height profile of the prosthesis.
