Publication number: 20250249449Abstract: Disclosed are single-use test cartridges, cell analyzer apparatus, and methods for automatically performing microscopic cell analysis tasks, such as counting and analyzing blood cells in biological samples. A small measured quantity of a biological sample, such as whole blood, is placed in a mixing bowl on the test cartridge after being inserted into the analyzer. The analyzer also deposits a known amount of diluent/stain in the bowl and mixes it with the blood. The analyzer takes a measured amount of the mixture and dispenses in a sample cup on the cartridge in fluid communication with an imaging chamber. The geometry of the imaging chamber is chosen to maintain the uniformity of the mixture, and prevent cells from crowding or clumping as it is transferred into the chamber by the analyzer. Images of all of the cellular components within the chamber are counted and analyzed to obtain a complete blood count.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 17, 2025Publication date: August 7, 2025Inventors: Ronald Jones, Adrian Gropper, Robert Hagopian, Charles Rogers, Thomas Vitella, Tyler Cote, Donald Barry, Jr., Dirk Osterloh, Chen Yi

Publication number: 20250108223Abstract: Presented herein are implantable housing arrangements that are configured to receive and retain an implantable magnet therein, while also facilitating both in-plane rotation and out-of-plane rotation of the implantable magnet in the presence of external magnetic, such as that applied with an MRI. That is, the housing arrangements presented herein allow a planar (e.g., conventional/standard) implantable magnet to rotate circumferentially around a central axis of the implantable magnet (in-plane rotation), as well as angularly rotate relative to the central axis (out-of-plane rotation). The in-plane rotation and out-of-plane rotation can reduce torque during an MRI because the magnet is able to rotate so as to more closely align with the applied MRI magnetic field, resulting in less pain and less risk of tissue or device damage.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 27, 2022Publication date: April 3, 2025Inventors: Charles Roger Aaron LEIGH, Anthony POWELL, Kenneth OPLINGER
