    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a contact lens constructed from a copolymer of methyl methacrylate and a fluoroester having a refractive index of 1.36 to 1.45, a Knoop hardness of 5 to 16, a tensile modulus of 50,000 to 250,000, oxygen and carbon dioxide permeability of at least about 300 centibarrers and a water content of not more than about 5% by weight of the lens material.
