  • Patent number: 8380739
Abstract: A shareable utility that provides quality information to users in a given subject area. The utility maintains a quality database of information on the subject area on a local computing device. The quality database has links to objects of interest residing on the Internet and on the local device. All of the information in the quality database has been recommended for inclusion by an expert in the field. The present utility provides for dual searching of the local computing device and the Internet. A primary screen with multiple secondary windows is used as the starting point. The primary screen is designed to provide structure and direction to the search, but may also be customized to include a user/predefined template representing a broad level of interest. Subsequent display screens are used to display more detailed levels of interest in the given subject area. The present utility is well suited for applications in education, and knowledge transfer applications (e.g.

  • Patent number: 7614628
Abstract: A collapsible wheeled cart for carrying cases comprises a handle, a support platform for a carrying case pivotally connected to a lower end of the handle, a pair of wheel arms each having an outer end carrying a wheel and an inner end pivotally connected to the lower end of the handle, and an actuator operable to effect movement of the platform and wheel arms in unison from a non-deployed position in a collapsed configuration for the cart to a deployed position in an expanded configuration for the cart. The actuator is operable by a user applying a single manual operative motion to the actuator, which serves to expand the depth and width of the cart when it is placed in the expanded configuration from the collapsed configuration.

  • Publication number: 20040163912
Abstract: A carrying case includes an enclosure defining an accessible interior and an organizing assembly within the interior. The organizing assembly includes an organizing panel in the interior and a set of accessory modules removably attachable on the organizing panel in a plurality of different arrangements in which the set of accessory modules cover an attachment surface of the organizing panel entirely or substantially entirely and/or form a geometric configuration corresponding to a perimeter circumscribing the attachment surface. A method of using a carrying case involves removably attaching a set of accessory modules on an attachment surface of an organizing panel disposed within the interior of a carrying case such that the set of accessory modules cover the attachment surface entirely or substantially entirely and/or form a geometric configuration corresponding to a perimeter circumscribing the attachment surface, detaching at least some of the accessory modules from the attachment surface.

  • Patent number: 6334534
Abstract: An adjustable, impact resistant cushion for use in a carrying case or the like has a first pad including a compressible, substantially rectangular foam piece covered with a pliable non-porous cover. The cover continuously covers the foam piece and includes an air flow controlling vent. Air escapes from the pad through the vent at a controlled rate when the foam material is compressed and so the pad absorbs shock by providing resistance to compression which increases with increasing compression velocity. Preferably, open cell urethane foam is employed in the compressible foam piece. The adjustable impact resistant cushion includes a second pad hingedly connected by a flexible hinge segment of webbing or plastic. The adjustable cushion includes, on a back surface, one or more releasable hook and loop type fasteners elements (e.g., either hooks or loops).

  • Patent number: 4937529
Abstract: An identification assembly designed to locate and identify one of a large number of collectively disposed electrical conductors such as coaxial cables, applicable when interconnecting one end of the conductor for interconnection to a control console. A control unit attachable to one end of a specific conductor is capable of directing current flow to the conductor to activate an indicator unit attached to the opposite end of the conductor wherein activation serves to distinguish and identify the opposite end for attachment to the correct positioning in a control console, panel or the like.
