  • Publication number: 20210252750
Abstract: A molding apparatus includes a movable molding surface with molding cavities, a pressure shoe with a stationary outer surface that defines in cooperation with the molding surface a pressure zone, and a resin source configured to introduce molten resin into the pressure zone to be forced into the molding cavities by pressure in the pressure zone. The molding surface is movable with respect to the pressure shoe to introduce molding cavities to the pressure zone to be filled with resin while the outer surface of the pressure shoe and the molding surface define in between an entrance gap of decreasing width upstream of the pressure zone. The outer surface of the pressure shoe is spaced from the molding surface in the pressure zone to define a minimum gap at which the outer surface of the pressure shoe has a slope parallel to the molding surface.

  • Patent number: 6149065
Abstract: A modulating thermostat for a gas oven includes a body with supply, main and pilot passages. Feeder passages from the supply passage to the main and pilot passages provide a pilot gas flow for a pilot burner and a minimum combustion bypass flow to a main oven burner. The feeder passages are drilled along paths leading from mouths of the main and pilot passages and adjustment sleeves installed at the mouths adjust the gas flows for particular oven and fuel requirements. A temperature modulating valve assembly in the supply passage includes a valve member cooperating with a valve seat in the body to modulate gas flow and maintain an oven temperature set by rotation of a valve stem at the front of the thermostat. The thermostat is calibrated by rotating a sleeve accessible through the hollow stem at the front of the thermostat.

  • Patent number: 4953906
Abstract: A golf ball retriever which is attachable to the grip end of a standard golf club and which retrieves a lost ball in a partial loop at the retriever's end. The partial loop is formed to define approximately 66% of a full circle. For optimum retrieving effectiveness, the partial loop is oriented relative to the supporting shaft where it may be brought closely parallel with the resting surface of the golf ball. The retriever is formed into a spiral configuration at its club attachment end. To attach the retriever to a golf club, the club grip is guided into the center of the spiral configuration to coincide with its axis and then drawn telescopically as far out as permitted by the spiral until the retriever is firmly seated on the grip.

  • Patent number: 4454088
Abstract: A composition comprising a chopped, bondable low friction yarn which is made by twisting together filaments of low friction material with filaments of bondable material and by impregnating the yarn with a bonding resin. A low friction bearing, and a process for manufacturing the same, involving the molding of bondable low friction yarn which has been chopped into small pieces, is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4442578
Abstract: A process for making composite bearings with low friction surfaces and metal backings in which the metal backing is used to draw low friction material into the shape of the bearing surface. Heat is used to aid bonding of the low friction material to the backing.

  • Patent number: 3997954
Abstract: In a method of preparing a low friction bearing having an inner bearing member, a housing and a low friction surface element therebetween, wherein the housing having an inner surface is constructed to surround the bearing member and said housing is comprised of a plurality of sections which cooperatively define the shape of the outer surface of the inner bearing element, the improvement comprising the steps:1. winding onto a mandrel a continuous strand of a bondable low friction thread comprised of low friction filaments and bondable filaments impregnated with a bondable resin which is in a solidified yet thermoplastic state;2. affixing the wound thread to the inner surface of at least one housing section;3. curing the resin to coalesce the threads and intergrate the turns of the threads to produce a low friction element; and4.

  • Patent number: 3964807
Abstract: A low friction bushing is made by winding a continuous strand of bondable low friction thread impregnated with a bonding resin into the shape of a hollow cylinder having an axial length greater than the finished bushing. The cylinder is inserted into an annular cavity and with heat and pressure is axially compressed therewithin to radially expand it and compact the thread turns and fuse the resin into a solidified matrix with the thread and resin matrix completely filling the cavity and thereafter the solidified bushing is removed from the cavity. One of the cylindrical walls of the cavity is finished with a surface of bearing quality such that the surface of the bushing pressed thereagainst will be of a complementary quality.

  • Patent number: 3947611
Abstract: In the preparation of low friction thread for use in the manufacture of bearings the thread is first rendered bondable, is then coated in a bath of bonding resin, is led vertically out of the bath and the resin is cured to the B-stage, and the B-stage thread is wound into spools for subsequent use.
