  • Publication number: 20220232778
Abstract: A feeding mechanism for a crop baler having a leaf forming chute, quick feeding mechanism, hay guides, hay gates, hay leaf divider drum and a control mechanism to stop and start the rotation of the divider drum. The leaf forming chute guides the crop from the packing crank to the middle of the bale chamber. The quick feeding device moves hay from the divider drum to the compression area above or below the compression roller. A control devise stops and starts the rotation of the divider drum causing an equal amount of hay to be placed in the top of the bale as compared to the bottom of the bale. The same control devise to stop the rotation of the divider drum and to stop the movement of hay to the compression area during the tying cycle.

  • Patent number: 9591807
Abstract: A feeding mechanism for a crop baler having a quick feeding device including hay guides which can be deflected by a semi cylinder compression mechanism. The hay guides guide the hay into the bale chamber. A cutting device is provided to divide the continuously fed hay into segments of hay to be placed above and below the compression roller. The mechanism also includes a method of storing a segment of hay while the baler binds the bale in the bale chamber with twine. The mechanism stores hay at the precise time the baler binds the bale in the bale chamber and clears the storage area while the next bale is being made. The mechanism will slow the speed of the semi cylinder, quick feed, leaf stopper cutter, and knotter needle system when binding a bale to allow the baler to operate at a higher speed when not binding the bale.

  • Patent number: 8875625
Abstract: An improved baler designed in such a way as to allow for the continuous compression of foraged material and the ability to tie off rectangular bales without stopping a continuous compression mechanism within the baler. The baler includes a semi cylinder that moves up and down to compress the foraged material in the compression area while at the same time more material is added by a feeding apparatus above and below the semi cylinder during the down and up motions of the cylinder. The baler also includes a separate area for storing uncompressed material while other material is being compressed and tied off. A computer is included to monitor and control the process.

  • Patent number: 6997663
Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatuses for loading, unloading, and handling bales. A powered apparatus is configured to load bales, slide the bales from a loading mechanism to a rearward position on a platform, and unload the bales from the apparatus comprises a variety of mechanisms and control systems. Such mechanisms include a bale accumulating platform, a bale loading mechanism to pick up and deposit bales on the accumulating platform, a bale sliding mechanism, and a push-off or sliding mechanism to unload bales from the apparatus. The apparatus may be positioned in a variety of configurations and a chain tensioner mechanism is used to keep chains taut. The apparatus further comprises a control system that includes a computer device or controller, sensors and switches. The sensors and switches are configured to selectively provide input to the computer device or may be used independent of the computer device to control one or more mechanisms of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5507612
Abstract: Apparatus for picking up and stacking large bales of hay or the like comprises a wheeled trailer that is pulled in an offset position by a tractor, a bale pick up and loading mechanism on the front of the trailer for picking up the bales as the trailer is pulled across a field, and a downwardly and a rearwardly inclined accumulating platform on the trailer for storing the bales. The accumulating platform is tiltable in a rearward direction to unload the bales in a stack. The bale pick-up and loading mechanism comprises a pivotal loading platform with outwardly extending pick-up arms on the sides of the loading platform guiding and manipulating the bales into proper position and for grasping the ends of the bales as they are lifted on the accumulating platform. Upwardly extending gripping members or sliding alignment tubes at the ends of the pick-up arms, and pivotable grab hooks, provide increased bale grasping capabilities and improved stacking stability.

  • Patent number: 5211345
Abstract: A system for handling bales of feed includes a freight trailer with a tongue that can be offset laterally to cause the trailer to follow a path to one side of the path of a tractor to permit a front-loading device on the trailer to engage bales of feed and raise them onto a load-carrying platform of the trailer. The platform is tiltable downward to the rear to induce sliding movement of loaded bales, and to release said bales in a vertical stack. The platform is provided with a device to grip the top bale of a stack and insert a lifting member under the stack to retrieve it for feeding operations. The platform is tiltable downward-forward to induce forward movement of the bales for release onto a bale shredder carried in part on the tongue of the trailer.

  • Patent number: 4619570
Abstract: A bale loading-stacking apparatus is provided for mounting on the bed or frame of a truck, trailer or the like to collect and load bales, such as bales of hay, and to deposit the collected bales at an accumulation location. The apparatus includes an accumulator platform pivotally mounted to the bed or frame of the truck, trailer, or the like to permit the platform to be pivoted between a horizontal position for loading the bales to a vertical position for depositing a stack of bales. A bale loading apparatus is mounted at the rear of the platform which includes a loading ramp pivotally mounted so as to be pivotable between a generally horizontal position at ground level extending rearwardly of the platform and a generally vertical position extending above the rear end of the platform. Power means are provided for pivoting the platform and for pivoting the loading ramp.
