  • Patent number: 7427924
Abstract: A method and apparatus for monitoring driver fatigue in a vehicle having a steering control includes connecting a sensor with respect to the steering control and a controller with respect to the sensor. A steering input count signal and/or steering wheel rotation signal is provided from the sensor to the controller and an alarm is activated when the steering input count signal drops below a minimum level and/or the steering wheel rotation signal exceeds a maximum level. The alarm may trigger physical responses within the vehicle including audible, visual, engine management and/or similar responses.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 11, 2005
Date of Patent: September 23, 2008
    Assignee: Triodyne Inc.
Inventors: Christopher W. Ferrone, Charles Sinkovits
  • Publication number: 20070063827
Abstract: A back up alarm system for a vehicle including a sensor for generating a vehicle motion status signal with a vehicle reverse gear engaged. The vehicle motion status signal includes a base electrical signal when the vehicle is stationary and the vehicle motion status signal includes a threshold electrical signal when the vehicle is moving in a reverse direction. A controller is operatively connected to the sensor and receives the vehicle motion status signal from the sensor. The controller activates a first alarm in response to the base electrical signal including at least one of an audible warning signal and a visual warning signal. In response to the threshold electrical signal, the controller activates a second alarm including at least one of an audible warning signal and a visual warning signal.

  • Patent number: 6733225
Abstract: A counter latch system and method of operation of a hopper having a payload and a latch moveable between a latched position and an unlatched position, the system and method including unlatching a latch of the hopper into the unlatched position and deploying a counter latch to maintain the latch in the unlatched position prior to dumping. The hopper is subsequently responsively returned into the latched position as the hopper is returned from dumping the payload.
