Abstract: A computerized system and method for provide increased data throughput for a virtual driver. The system includes a SCSI (Small Computer System Interconnect) port manager; a miniport driver operatively coupled to the SCSI port manager; and a network interface operatively coupled to the miniport driver. Upon receiving indication that a SCSI command has been completed, the miniport driver issues a request to the SCSI port manager causing the SCSI port manager to issue a function call into the miniport driver. As a result, the function call to complete the request is in the SCSI port manager's context. The method includes calling a first routine in a first module to deliver a data packet; sending a function request to a second module that causes the second module to call a second routine in the first module. As a result, the second routine is called in the proper context.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes retrieving a network parameter for a computing device from a remote server. The method also includes updating data in a registry of the computing device based on the value of the network parameter. The retrieving of the network parameter and the updating of the data in the registry are performed prior to executing an operating system within the computing device.

Abstract: A system and method of maintaining connectivity between a host computer and a target on a storage router. A failover driver is established in a stack of an operating system of the host computer. A first network connection is established between the host computer and the target on the storage router. The failover driver monitors connectivity information associated with the first network connection and, if failure of the first network connection is detected, establishes a second network connection between the host computer and the target on the storage router.

Abstract: A Pre-boot Execution Environment (PXE) boot extension is loaded upon system boot and is operable to store an iSCSI boot disk identifier identifying a remote disk drive to a shared memory location. As an operating system is loaded via iSCSI over a network connection to a remote disk, an operating system iSCSI driver is loaded. The operating system iSCSI driver reads the boot disk identifier stored in the shared memory location and uses the boot disk identifier to configure the operating system.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes replicating data in a storage disk. The method also includes storing the data in an Internet Protocol Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI) boot disk that is associated with a diskless iSCSI server. A part of the data, which is related to a device on which the data is executed, is updated during the storing of the data in the iSCSI boot disk.
