  • Patent number: 10817877
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention provides a method for selectively using degree confidence for image validation to authorize transactions, wherein a request to authorize a transaction is received, the request including a user's name, a photo of the user, and a transaction value. A database is queried with the user's name to identify one or more reference photos of the user; and, the received photo of the user is compared to the reference photo of the user with an analysis engine to generate a confidence value. An authorization threshold is determined with a processor based on the transaction value. The transaction is authorized when the confidence value is equal to and/or greater than the authorization threshold.

  • Patent number: 10737793
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for an ice detector with a movable airfoil. The movable airfoil may be airfoil shaped and the ice detector may include an ice detection sensor. The movable airfoil may be adjusted in angle of attack and/or configuration to simulate the pressure gradient experienced by one or more of the wing, fuselage, engine, horizontal/vertical stabilizer, or other component of the aircraft. Sensors may be used to detect the configuration of the aircraft or the components of the aircraft and the configuration of the movable airfoil may then be adjusted to approximate the pressure distribution around the aircraft component. Ice accretion on the movable airfoil may be determined via the data from the ice detector.

  • Patent number: 10669035
Abstract: A system detects ice on a surface. The system comprises an ultraviolet (UV) light source configured to project light primarily in the UV-A spectrum onto the surface. The system further comprises an optical device configured to capture an image of the surface while the light primarily in the UV-A spectrum is projected by the UV light source. The system further comprises a control device communicatively coupled to the optical device. The control device is configured to receive the image from the optical device and determine whether or not ice is present on the surface based respectively on whether or not visible light induced by the light projected by the UV light source is captured in the image.

  • Publication number: 20200089844
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing provisioning of keys prior to a key rotation are provided. A license server generates a license that is associated with a renewal time. The renewal time is a time that is prior to a key rotation time, and triggers a receiver device to send a renewal request prior to the key rotation time. The renewal time may be a randomized time prior to the key rotation time that differs for different receiver devices. The license is transmitted to the receiver device. The license server then receives a renewal request from the receiver device that is triggered at the renewal time. The license server generates a next license that comprises a next key, whereby the next key is a decryption key for decrypting the encrypted signal after the key rotation time. The next license is transmitted to the receiver device prior to the key rotation time.

  • Patent number: 10450076
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for automated fire detection, such as in aircraft galleys, or other areas where power sources may result in fire or smoke. The system includes one or more detectors to monitor for smoke or fire in an aircraft galley. Upon detection of smoke or fire, a signal is sent from the one or more detectors to a controller. In response to the incoming signal, the controller sends a signal to a galley power source. The signal provided to the galley power source ceases the application of power to one or more devices located in the galley, extinguishing the source of the fire or smoke. The controller may also send a notification signal to alert the crew to the potential fire hazard. A method of operation is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20190075352
Abstract: Example embodiments provide systems and methods for replacing recorded media content. In an example method, at least one media content source is searched for a media content item recorded to storage of a first media content device. Based on the media content item being found at a first media content source of the at least one media content source, a recording of the media content item to storage of a second media content device is scheduled based on the media content item being recordable from the first media content source at the second media content device. Based on the media content item not being recordable from the first media content source at the second media device, the availability of the media content item is indicated to the second media content device.

  • Publication number: 20190028739
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing access to live content based on content rating levels are provided. A digital receiver receives an indication of a license rotation during presentation of a live content stream delivered over the Internet to the digital receiver of a user. In response to receiving the indication, the digital receiver accesses, from a license server, a license corresponding to the license rotation. The digital receiver extracts a rating level of content from a field of the license and compares a user setting for the user with the rating level of the content. Based on the comparing, the digital receiver determines whether to provide continued access to the live content stream.

  • Publication number: 20180223221
Abstract: A hollow vessel operated under vacuum receives whole orange peel delivered by a conveyor. The peel is heated indirectly by steam. Oil and water present in the peel evaporates and is drawn off to be condensed, captured and separated. Separation is by decantation. Operation under vacuum lowers the boiling point of the oil. Steam condensate is collected for reuse. The exiting peel discharges from the vessel and is conveyed away for further processing.
