Abstract: An accessory socket assembly for a mixer is provided. The assembly includes an accessory shaft, with a threaded end and a non-threaded end and with at least a first pin therebetween, and an accessory socket, with a bore sized to receive the accessory shaft. The accessory socket has at least a first J-slot in the bore. The first J-slot including an upper wall and first and second pin retention walls, and being sized to receive the first pin of the accessory shaft when the shaft is inserted into the bore. Methods of inserting the accessory shaft into the accessory socket, and attaching an accessory are also provided.
