  • Publication number: 20200064390
Abstract: Methods, systems and locators for detecting faults in an insulation layer of an insulated conductor buried beneath a ground surface are described. The locator comprises a magnetometer arranged to detect a magnetic field generated by the alternating current and to generate a current signal on the basis of the detected magnetic field, and an Alternating Voltage Gradient receiver comprising a pair of probes arranged to make electrical contact with the ground surface, which is arranged to generate a voltage signal indicative of a voltage between the pair of probes. A processor is configured to substantially synchronously sample the current signal and the voltage signal. This enables improved detection of faults in the insulation layer of the insulated conductor.

  • Publication number: 20200067712
Abstract: A multimodal communication system includes a vehicle controller that controls one or more systems or subsystems of an unmanned vehicle. The communication controller manages communication and logical access to the unmanned vehicle. One or more sensors in communication with the communication controller detects and measures physical properties in proximity to the unmanned vehicle. Transceivers receive the unmanned vehicle commands that are transmitted simultaneously or concurrently and a monotonic generator generates a monotonic object each time the unmanned vehicle's operating state changes. The communication controller executes the first unmanned vehicle command received that has the correct cryptographic hash validating knowledge of the unmanned vehicle's current operating state.

  • Publication number: 20190385239
Abstract: A method for determining an adverse vehicle event, including: sampling sensor data an onboard vehicle system coupled to an ego-vehicle; at the onboard vehicle system, extracting a set of event parameters from the sensor data, wherein the vehicle event data is associated with a vehicle event occurring within the time interval; computing a loss probability based on the set of event parameters in response to the loss probability exceeding a threshold probability, transforming the set of event parameters into insurance claim data; and automatically transmitting the insurance claim data to an endpoint, wherein the endpoint is determined based on the participant identifier.

  • Publication number: 20190374270
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for the approximation of two bones, the apparatus including a first anchor that is rotationally driven into a first bone by a second bone anchor, which receives driving torque from a driver tool. After the first anchor is secured in the first bone, the second anchor is disengaged from the first anchor but remains connected to the first anchor by a flexible link of a designed length. The second bone anchor is secured in the second bone and has provisions to be lengthened or shortened to adjust the overall length of the implant, thereby adjusting the approximation between the two bones.
