  • Patent number: 11927598
Abstract: An analyzer system for in vitro diagnostics includes a sample handler module having a robot arm that delivers samples from drawers into carriers on a linear synchronous motor automation track. Samples are delivered via the automation track to individual track sections associated with individual analyzer modules. Analyzer modules aspirate sample portions directly from the sample carriers and perform analysis thereon.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 15, 2022
Date of Patent: March 12, 2024
    Assignee: Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Inc.
Inventors: David Stein, Roy Barr, Mark Edwards, Colin Mellars, Thomas J. Bao, Charles V. Cammarata, Benjamin S. Pollack, Baris Yagci, Beri Cohen
  • Patent number: 11515722
Abstract: A modular in vitro diagnostics (IVD) vessel mover system providing redundant power management includes a plurality of modules which are configured to provide storage to one or more IVD samples. Each module comprising a power failover switch which is configured to receive internal power from an internal primary power source and transmit backup power to one or more of the plurality of modules.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6141888
Abstract: In a monitoring system for a wood drying kiln having a housing with an interior area for placement of a charge of wood for drying the charge of wood, the interior area having a floor, environment devices for adjusting heat and humidity in the interior area of the kiln, and a control unit for controlling the environment devices, the improvement is a support in the interior area for supporting a representative sample of the charge of wood, a sensor mounted to the support for sensing the weight of the sample which is a function of moisture content in the sample and a proportioning mechanism connected between the sensor and the sample for suspending the sample and for applying a proportioned force resulting from the weight of the sample to the sensor. The sensor is connected to the control unit for generating a signal which is proportional to the weight, and thus, to the moisture content of the sample.
