  • Patent number: 4768968
Abstract: An improved fuse holder for cartridge electrical fuses features snap-in terminal clips which engage the side barrier walls of a unitary insulating mounting base. The barrier side walls partially shroud the clips from accidental contact by external objects. The metal rivet normally used to secure a fuse clip to a base is eliminated, permitting a lower fuse holder profile for a given voltage requirement. Optional additional subsequent hot-forming of a clip-engaging post on the base provides extra pull strength to the structure. A limited rotation capability of the clips facilitates fuse insertion without breakage.

  • Patent number: 4508412
Abstract: A panel mountable fuse holder for cartridge-type electrical fuses features a one-piece side terminal connection and a one-piece rear terminal connection. Both are configured for radial snap-in engagement with the fuse holder body. A novel capture mechanism in a sleeve disposed within an insertion knob assembly provides electrical contact to the forward fuse terminal without unduly stressing substantially misaligned caps. The capture mechanism also provides moderate rotational torque to the fuse during insertion, whereby the fuse is partially rotated to provide improved electrical contact to a planar ring structure integral with the rear terminal connection.

  • Patent number: 4432594
Abstract: A fuse holder clip for snap-in insertion into a parallel array fuse holder block features a terminal lug configured in the form of a right-angle strap of length such as to allow mechanical and electrical engagement to a similarly configured adjacent clip disposed along one side of the array. Complementary engaging means, preferably in the form of a hollow rivet at the right-angle bend of the strap, and a matching hole at the outboard end of the strap permits riveting engagement of an arbitrary number of such clips, whereby such clips become electrically interconnected by a common bus. The snap-in feature of the clips permits removal and reconfiguration of terminal groupings along a given edge of the fuse block at will. Use of the hollow rivet facilitates high current lead attachment to the bus by an eyelet lead lug and a self-tapping screw.
