  • Publication number: 20160074895
Abstract: An adapter (14) allows direct connection of a handheld spray device (10) to paint cans (12, 12A, 12B, 12C), of varying dimensions. The adapter (14) includes a cage (60) for holding the paint can (12, 12A, 12B, 12C), a cap (62) that connects the cage (60) to the hand-held spray device (10), and a gasket (64) that seals the open upper end of the paint can (12, 12A, 12B, 12C) to the cap (62). The adapter (14) may also include a suction tube extension 66 that is connectable between the pump inlet (52) and the suction tube (54) of the spray device (10).

  • Patent number: 9192952
Abstract: A control valve for a fluid dispensing device comprises a valve stem, a valve body, a cap and an adjustment mechanism. The elongate valve stem has a flange. The valve body comprises a valve bore in which the elongate valve stem is configured to translate, and a flow path intersecting the valve bore and into which the valve stem penetrates. The cap is joined to the valve body to receive the valve stem such that the flange is positioned between the valve body and the cap. The adjustment mechanism changes a position of the cap with respect to the valve body to vary a distance between the cap and the flange which adjusts the force, and thereby the pressure at which the valve opens.

  • Patent number: 9010658
Abstract: In airless spray tip assembly 100 shown in FIG. 2, cylinder 112 contains tip 114 and is at one end of dead zone 116. Shutoff 118 is comprised of ball 120 and seat 122. The needle seat 122 has been mated to each tip assembly 100 (See FIG. 2). By mating the tip 114 and the seat assembly (shutoff) 118 into one, the seal 124 can be moved out of the ‘dead zone’ 116 thus reducing spit volume and energy storage.

  • Patent number: 8814467
Abstract: A flame safety system for a thermoplastic applicator comprises a gas burner and a flame indicator. The gas burner expels a jet of pressurized combustible gas from an outlet nozzle, and includes an attachment groove near the nozzle. The flame indicator includes an attachment ring configured to fit into the groove, thereby securing the flame indicator to the gas burner, and a flame path portion extending from the attachment ring into the jet of pressurized combustible gas. The flame path portion is formed from a material which incandescently glows whenever the jet of combustible pressurized gas is lit.

  • Patent number: 4595997
Abstract: A Reader/Sorter may have an MICR read head, an OMR read head, and two OCR read heads or a combination thereof.A Reader/Sorter Adapter receives characters read by the Reader/Sorter. The characters include data and formatting symbol characters read from a document and control characters generated by the Reader/Sorter. Certain characters may be identified as queue field identifiers (QFI) by the user via software. These are usually the formatting characters. The control characters are identified as pseudo queue field identifiers (PQFI). QFI and PQFI characters are received by a Multiple Device Controller and allow the firmware to identify the length of the data fields, the head from which the characters were received, and any special conditions associated with reading of a data field.

  • Patent number: 4425626
Abstract: A reader/sorter reads documents which include MICR, OMR and OCR encoded characters. The reader/sorter reads each type of character sequentially at separate read head positions. Character codes read by a particular head address a separate area of address locations in a random access memory which stores equivalent character codes which are used by the data processing system. The random access memory is loaded with the translated character codes, allowing a data processing system to communicate with the reader/sorter.

  • Patent number: 4325117
Abstract: Information from a document is read by a reader sorter; the information is organized in fields including a transit field which is made up of 8 decimal digits and a check digit. The 8 decimal digits are each multiplied by a predetermined number which depends on the position of the decimal digit in the transit field as indicated by a position counter. Signals indicative of the decimal digit and the position in the transit field are applied to the address terminals of a Programmable Read Only Memory (PROM). Each address location stores the units position of the product of the multiplication of the decimal digit times the predetermined value. A firmware routine stored in a control memory performs the check digit calculation "on the fly" using the units position of the product from the PROM and certain status bits stored in a scratchpad memory.

  • Patent number: 4068999
Abstract: In a blown tube process of producing thermoplastic film or sheeting, the blown tube is collapsed by passing it through a trapezoidal frame assembly to change the circular cross section of the tube to a square cross section. The square cross section tube passing from the trapezoidal frame assembly is then passed through a predeterminedly controlled flattening transition section to a pair of nip rolls in a manner that the film arrives at the nip rolls with minimal stretching.
