  • Patent number: 6015143
Abstract: An automatic document feeder includes a low profile, small footprint document output tray having an overall length of about one-half a document length and a shallow curvature with a centrally disposed medium depressor at the central region of the curve that forces a medium sheet to stiffen and to take the curved shape of the output tray.

  • Patent number: 6012714
Abstract: An automatic document feeder having a quick release hinge assembly for attachment to a computer input device having a medium receiving surface and an associated aligned flat bed bezel with at least one receiving sleeves includes a plurality of interconnectable modular assemblies where one of the assemblies functions as a hinge mount and includes a set of protrusions complementary in shape to a corresponding set of stops tilts on an attachment hinge secured removably to the hinge mount. The attachment hinge and hinge mount cooperate to permit the automatic document feeder to be swiveling mounted to the computer input device in a precisely aligned manner to facilitate the moving of documents in seriatim from an input tray to an output tray of the automatic document feeder via the medium receiving surface of the computer input device.

  • Patent number: 5709381
Abstract: A paper tray assembly for a computer controlled printer has an angled paper discharge wall and a paper stack skewer which automatically urges the leading edges of each sheet of paper in the stack against the slanted wall as the paper tray is inserted into a tray receiving slot in the printer. The reason for doing this automatic skewing is to prevent paper misfeeds. Optionally, paper length and paper width adjusting slides are used with the automatic paper stack skewer being pivotally affixed to a length adjustment slide, if used. The skewer is operated by interengaging cams and followers which are actuated as the paper tray is inserted into or removed from a tray receiving slot in the printer.

  • Patent number: 4228568
Abstract: A releasable fastener for securing together lap belt straps, shoulder harness straps and a parachute ripcord lanyard. The fastener includes a buckle member or release assembly on one lap belt interengageable with a tongue member or link assembly on the other lap belt. A key on the end of the ripcord lanyard is releasably attached to the link assembly. The shoulder harness straps are engaged with the release assembly before it is coupled with the link assembly. The fastener provides for automatic release of the lap belt and shoulder harness straps to release the user from an aircraft ejection seat after its ejection from the aircraft, while retaining the parachute ripcord in attachment to the ejection seat for initiating automatic deployment of the parachute. Upon manual release of the fastener, the lap belt and shoulder harness straps are released and the ripcord lanyard key is positively ejected from the fastener to ensure its release.
