  • Publication number: 20210046675
Abstract: Disclosed are methods related to making a stamped article and articles and assemblies made therefrom. The methods include providing a partial replica of the stamped article having opposed first and second major surfaces, and then coupling the partial replica to a walled enclosure to provide a mold assembly having upper and lower chambers separated from each other by the partial replica. Compositions can be hardened in the upper and lower chambers to provide upper and lower tools having a shape complemental to the first and second major surfaces. After removing the upper and lower tools from the mold assembly, a deformable sheet can be pressed between the upper and lower tools to form the stamped article.

  • Patent number: 10668701
Abstract: A sound and heat insulating blanket is presented comprising: a) a first layer of fabric comprising first fibers; and b) a first sound barrier film comprising a first rubber; wherein the first layer of fabric and first sound barrier film are bound together through a first interpenetrated binding layer wherein the first rubber of the first sound barrier film is interpenetrated by the first fibers of the first layer of fabric; and optionally c) a second layer of fabric comprising second fibers; wherein the second layer of fabric and first sound barrier film are bound together through a second interpenetrated binding layer wherein the first cured composition of the first sound barrier film is interpenetrated by the second fibers of the second layer of fabric. Typically, the sound and heat insulating blanket comprises no adhesive binding the first and second layers of fabric and the sound barrier film.

  • Patent number: 10501612
Abstract: A curable composition is provided comprising a curable rubber comprising: a) 80.0-99.9 wt % of a chloroprene resin; b) 0.06-13 wt % of trimethyl thiourea; and c) 0.06-13 wt % of a benzothiazolesulfenamide, such as N-cyclohexyl-2-benzothiazoles-ulfenamide. The present disclosure additionally provides cured compositions comprising a rubber comprising a crosslinked chloroprene resin and a fire retardant particle system comprising: d) 5-95 wt % particulate magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)2); and e) 5-95 wt % particulate aluminum trihydrate (Al(OH)3). In some embodiments the particulate aluminum trihydrate (Al(OH)3) has a mean particle size of greater than 30 microns and less than 400 microns, and more typically a mean particle size of greater than 82 microns. The present disclosure additionally provides sound barrier films comprising the cured compositions according to the present disclosure, in particular fire resistant sound barrier films.

  • Publication number: 20130327471
Abstract: A method of making an embossed liner panel for use as an interior liner of a cargo carrying vehicle is provided. A reinforced thermoplastic polymer feedstock, an impression mat having a textured surface, and a release film are provided. The materials are stacked such that the film is provided between the feedstock and the mat. The stacked materials are fed into a laminator and a roller therein moves the stacked materials therethrough. The laminator heats and compresses the materials to emboss the textured surface of the mat onto the feedstock to form the embossed liner panel. Thereafter, the mat is released from the feedstock and collected for reuse. The mat is a separate component from the roller of the laminator.
