  • Patent number: 4817593
Abstract: A process of making a polyurethane condom which comprises providing an organic solvent solution of a polyurethane, a single dipping of a condom form or mold into the polyurethane solution, raising the form from solution and allowing the resultant deposited film to cure at elevated temperatures, thereby forming the condom.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 27, 1987
Date of Patent: April 4, 1989
    Assignee: Deseret Medical Inc.
Inventors: Robert A. Taller, Charles W. McGary, Jr.

  • Patent number: 4463156
Abstract: A soft, low modulus, non-crystalline segmented polyurethane characterized by a 100% modulus less than about 250 psi, initial tensile set less than about 30% and tensile strength of about 3500 to 6500 psi obtained by balancing the percent hard segment and the degree of cross-linking within the ranges 14 to 25% hard segment and 5,000 to 30,000 molecular weight per cross-link in a segmented polyurethane; and a flexible glove for use by surgeons and others which is easily donned and comfortable on the hand, wherein the glove forming material consists essentially of the aforesaid polyurethane.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 15, 1982
Date of Patent: July 31, 1984
    Assignee: Warner-Lambert Co., Inc.
Inventors: Charles W. McGary, Jr., Vincent J. Pascarella, Delmer R. Rhodes, Robert A. Taller
  • Patent number: 4434126
Abstract: A powder coating process for producing soft, flexible polyurethane films particularly in the form of a surgical glove, wherein low melting crystalline prepolymer particles are powder coated and cured to an essentially non-crystalline film.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 15, 1982
Date of Patent: February 28, 1984
    Assignee: Warner-Lambert Company
Inventors: Charles W. McGary, Jr., Vincent J. Pascarella, Robert A. Taller, Delmer R. Rhodes, Paul E. Anglin, Charles W. Daugherty
  • Patent number: 4403084
Abstract: A crystalline grindable end-blocked prepolymer useful in providing a polyurethane elastomer having a 100% modulus less than approximately 250 psi, tensile of 3500 to 6500 psi, and less than 30% initial tensile set, said prepolymer being the product of reacting an organic polyisocyanate, a long chain crystalline diol having an average molecular weight of approximately 500 to 5000, a polyhydroxy cross-linking agent, and an end-blocking agent.
