  • Patent number: 10721407
Abstract: A method for processing camera images in real-time is disclosed. The user starts a process that generates a feed from a mobile device of camera images of a document. An image from the feed is obtained and set as the current image. One or more of a plurality of aspects regarding the image are computed and tested against a threshold. If the aspect fails to satisfy the threshold, then the user is prompted to change the move the mobile device. Once the aspects satisfy their respective thresholds, the camera feed is stopped, the last image is saved, and character recognition of the last image is performed and displayed to the user.

  • Patent number: 10169208
Abstract: A technique is provided for determining a similarity score between a source program and a test program. The technique includes generating an abstract syntax tree for both programs and converting the subtrees of each syntax tree into hash vectors. Vectors in the abstract syntax tree for the source program are dimension reduced and made accessible in a spatial data structure such as an R-tree. The structure is searched using the hash vectors from the test program abstract syntax tree and candidate matching vectors are found. A search is conducted among the candidate matching vectors for pairs that have a degree of similarity above a given threshold and these are the reported results.

  • Publication number: 20170337267
Abstract: A method for discovering a group defined by a common characteristic is disclosed. The method includes building representation of a portion of a social network based on a starting person with the given characteristic, the person also providing the person's gender and school affiliation. The social network representation is then searched to discover clusters therein meeting certain size and connectivity requirements with respect to the network. After the clusters in the network are discovered, clusters having a high degree of similarity are merged together. The resulting clusters, both merged and non-merged, are then scored to determine the cluster that best fits the original group. The winning cluster is then returned to the starting person who confirms the correctness of the cluster. The set of the persons in a confirmed cluster are then displayed to the starting person.

  • Patent number: 5199936
Abstract: Athletic training apparatus (10) for conducting conditioning drills or exercises includes a generally U-shaped frame (11) having a cross beam (15) and a pair of extending arms (25, 35) spaced and joined by the cross beam, an impact member (50) of elastomeric material suspended between the arms, and means (37) for selectively adjustably tensioning the impact member. A harness (70) may be employed for assisting an athlete to hold the frame in operative position for conducting the drills or exercises.

  • Patent number: 5033737
Abstract: Adjustable hurdle apparatus (10, 110) positionable on a running track as a barrier to runners in track events including a supporting framework (11, 111), a horizontal crossbar (45, 75, 120) to be cleared by runners positioned proximate an extremity of the supporting framework, a base (12, 112) attached to the supporting framework proximate the extremity of said framework opposite the horizontal crossbar for normally maintaining the supporting framework in a substantially vertical orientation relative to the track, and means (25, 26; 75, 76; 130) for infinitely adjustably vertically positioning the horizontal crossbar from competition heights to heights which are substantially below the lowest competition height.

  • Patent number: 4913420
Abstract: A starting block (10, 110, 210) for a runner to be used on a track having running lanes extending from a starting line (L, L', L") to a finish line including, a frame (11, 111, 211) for positioning in alignment with a running lane proximate to the starting line, fasteners (22, 222) for maintaining the frame at a selected location on the track, a first pad (55, 155, 255) selectively attachable longitudinally of the frame and having a substantially horizontal surface (56, 157, 257) for supporting one foot of a runner in a standing position, and a second pad (30, 130, 230) selectively attachable longitudinally of the frame and having an angularly upwardly extending surface (31, 131, 231) for engagement by the other foot of a runner in a standing position to assist in thrusting the runner across the starting line in a running lane toward the finish line.
