  • Patent number: 10173915
Abstract: A method for removing gaseous inclusions from a viscous liquid in which a viscous liquid stream having gaseous inclusions is introduced into a refining chamber, resulting in a flowing viscous liquid layer. The viscosity of a bottom portion of the viscous liquid layer is reduced in a first refining zone in the refining chamber so as to produce an upwardly mobile reduced viscosity portion of the viscous liquid layer. Heat is introduced into the viscous liquid layer from above the viscous liquid layer in a second refining zone in the refining chamber downstream of the first refining zone, reducing the gaseous inclusions in said viscous liquid layer. Thereafter, the viscous liquid layer having substantially reduced gaseous inclusions is discharged from the refining chamber.

  • Patent number: 9539778
Abstract: A pneumatic tire and a process to retread a tire is provided. The retreaded tire has a carcass and a crown region, wherein the crown region comprises a belt reinforcement structure located between the carcass and a tread. The retreaded tire further comprises a cementless cushion layer located radially outward of said belt reinforcement structure, and one or more reinforcement plies located radially outward of the cementless cushion layer. The one or more reinforcement plies is formed from a substantially continuous strip of reinforced elastomer which is wound from one side of the crown to the other side in a substantially continuous manner. The reinforcement ply may be formed from spirally winding the strip about the carcass, or one or more reinforcement plies may be formed from winding the strip about the carcass in a zigzag pattern.

  • Publication number: 20160225069
Abstract: A system configured to receive data representing a bid from a customer (e.g., a consumer, a user, a traveler) may be operative to place the bid on one or more products that satisfy the same need (e.g., property listings) for one or more bid prices and may be operative to submit the bid(s) to sellers (e.g., owners) of the one or more listings. An auction for the product may be terminated by elapsing of a bid window, by one of the owners being the first to accept the customers bid, or by the customer accepting an owner's counter offer. The system may present data representing inquiry bids that may meet the needs of the customer. The system may communicate data with another system that may publish data representing a deal or deals generated by an owner(s).

  • Patent number: 9294604
Abstract: A network system includes a first data source device with a primary interface and one or more second data source devices with a secondary interface disposed in electrical communication with the first data source device. A common data source device communicates with the first data source device and the second data source device(s). A serial string with a backbone is electrically connected to the primary interface and to the secondary interface. At least one endpoint device is electrically connected to the backbone via an endpoint interface. The primary interface is constructed and arranged initially as a master communication source for the serial string. The secondary interface is constructed and arranged to monitor messages transmitted by the primary interface and to take over as the master communication source if the secondary interface does not detect messages from the primary interface after a predetermined amount of time.

  • Publication number: 20130056126
Abstract: A pneumatic tire in accordance with the present invention includes two annular bead portions, a carcass, and a belt reinforcement layer. The carcass extends between the bead portions through sidewall portions and a tread portion. The carcass has at least one carcass ply of parallel cords turned up about the bead portions. The belt reinforcement layer is disposed radially outside the carcass and radially inside the tread portion. Each annular bead portion includes an annular bead core having the carcass ply turned up around the bead core, a first apex disposed adjacent and radially outward of the bead core, a second apex disposed axially outward of the bead core and the carcass ply, a first chafer disposed adjacent the carcass ply and axially outward of the bead core, and a second chafer disposed adjacent and axially outward the second apex and axially inward a sidewall portion. The first apex comprises a material with a 100 percent modulus between 1.0 MPa and 6.0 MPa.
