Publication number: 20230385338Abstract: This disclosure describes systems and methods that facilitate the generation of recommendations by traversing a graph. Walks that traverse the graph may be initiated from a plurality of different nodes in the node graph. In order to give greater or lesser weight to particular nodes, the walks may have different lengths depending on the nodes from which they are initiated, or an unequal amount of walks may be distributed between nodes from which walks are initiated. A plurality of walks through a node graph may be tracked, and visit counts or scores for nodes in the node graph may be determined. For example, scores may be increased for nodes that are visited by a walk initiated from a first node and a second walk initiated from a second node, or scores may be decreased for nodes that are not visited by a first walk initiated from a first node and a second walk initiated from a second node. Content corresponding to nodes may be recommended based on the scores or visit counts.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 3, 2023Publication date: November 30, 2023Applicant: Pinterest, Inc.Inventors: Chantat Eksombatchai, Jurij Leskovec, Rahul Sharma, Charles Walsh Sugnet, Mark Bormann Ulrich

Patent number: 9299091Abstract: A user interface for selecting an audience segment from a pool of tracked entities based on an aggregate similarity of the audience segment to an archetypical audience. A graphical representation illustrating a relationship between a composite index for the audience segment and an audience segment size are displayed to the user. User input indicating the archetypical audience and the audience segment is received by a system and the audience segment is assembled. The composite index and the audience segment size associated with the audience segment, are determined and displayed.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2013Date of Patent: March 29, 2016Assignee: Quantcast CorporationInventors: Charles Walsh Sugnet, Joseph Harlan Shoop, Paul G. Sutter, Konrad S. Feldman

Patent number: 8448057Abstract: A user interface for selecting an audience segment from a pool of tracked entities based on an aggregate similarity of the audience segment to an archetypical audience. The user can display a graphical representation illustrating a relationship between a composite index for the audience segment and an audience segment size and indicate the audience segment through the user interface. The user input indicating the audience segment is received by a system and the composite index and the audience segment size associated with the audience segment, are determined based at least in part on the user input. The composite index and the audience segment size associated with the audience segment are displayed.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2009Date of Patent: May 21, 2013Assignee: Quantcast CorporationInventors: Charles Walsh Sugnet, Joseph Harlan Shoop, Paul G Sutter, Konrad S Feldman

Publication number: 20040009512Abstract: The invention features an array comprising at least one set of nucleic acid probes for detection of gene products that are produced by mRNA splicing of a selected gene, wherein each probe set is specific for a selected gene, and wherein the probe set minimally comprises a splice junction probe and either an intron probe or an exon probe. The splice junction probe hybridizes specifically to a sequence corresponding to a preselected, non-genomic sequence present in a product of mRNA splicing, while the intron probe hybridizes specifically to a sequence corresponding to an intronic sequence present in unspliced mRNA. The exon probe hybridizes specifically to a sequence corresponding to an exonic sequence of the gene. The intron probe and the exon probe may each serve as an internal control. The invention also features methods of using the array to analyze mRNA splice products in a sample.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 25, 2003Publication date: January 15, 2004Inventors: Manuel Ares, Tyson Andrew Clark, Charles Walsh Sugnet, Valerie Ann Welch
