  • Patent number: 6454234
Abstract: Apparatus for supporting and restraining electronic viewing monitors, such as televisions and medical monitors, comprise a platform and wall bracket, ceiling bracket, or floor bracket for supporting the platform above the floor. A monitor is held onto the platform using a strap mechanism, usually comprising at least two straps which are pivotally attached between the two sides of the platform. The straps hold the monitor forwardly against an upwardly projecting lip, and the monitor is secured without penetrating fasteners. In a preferred embodiment, the upwardly projecting lip comprises a flexible restraining rail which is secured to the forward edge of the platform. The flexible restraining rail can be conformed to the shape of the particular monitor which is to be supported.

  • Patent number: 4516751
Abstract: A vertically adjustable bracket for supporting equipment, such as video display devices, includes a mechanism for orienting the devices at a desired angle and inclination. The mechanism includes a support plate having a spherical bearing surface which is received in a circular aperture in a bracket arm. The mounting plate is held in place by a threaded shaft which is secured to a slot formed in the spherical bearing surface by a nut. Rotation of the threaded shaft by a knob causes a linkage to incline the mounting plate to a desired inclination.
