A base surface of the channel preferably further comprises a plurality of ridges extending inwards from respective ends of the channel to separate the stringers from the base surface, the base preferably further comprises a bracket for attaching the stringer connector to an intermediate support structure. A staircase constructed using the stringer connector is also included.
