  • Publication number: 20240408468
Abstract: A variable buoyancy swimming device and swim methodology for teaching beginner swimmers how to swim and achieve independent, non-supported swimming skill. The present device assists in teaching and learning swimming by providing stability in the water and variable buoyancy for learning swimmers. A back float with a belt attached to at least one additional float with a twist lock mechanism for easy buoyancy adjustment for swimmers who need buoyancy assistance. The removal of buoyant float pieces once the swimmer has achieved specific swim milestones and skills allows a safe transition based on skill development while providing buoyancy and safety under parent or coach supervision ultimately achieving the goal of an independent swimmer with proper technique in a methodical system.

  • Patent number: 11903905
Abstract: An assembly for delivering medication to a patient has a cartridge loadable with a coiled strip of successively, physically linked medication-containing pouches. The cartridge is inserted into a delivery unit which has an advance mechanism which engages the strip and drives pouches successively out of the cartridge. Pouches are fed successively to an inspection mechanism and a separation station. At the inspection station indicia on successive pouches representing a medication schedule are inspected and compared and validated against a separately stored medication schedule recorded at the time the medication is packaged in the cartridge. A separation mechanism mounted at the separation station is used to separate a pouch at the leading end of the strip from the adjacent pouches. At a pouch exit, separated pouches are routed to a delivery zone.

  • Publication number: 20220403460
Abstract: The present disclosure is drawn to loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) reaction assemblies including a substantially hygroscopic agent free LAMP reagent mixture in combination with a solid-phase reaction medium. The present disclosure also includes systems for a chromatic LAMP analysis including a substantially non-reactive solid phase reaction medium, and a non-interfering reagent mixture. The present disclosure also includes solid phase LAMP reaction mediums comprising a substrate, an adhesive layer disposed on the substrate, a reaction layer disposed on the adhesive layer, and a spreading layer disposed on the reaction layer. The present disclosure also includes methods of testing for a presence of a target nucleotide sequence including providing a biological sample, and dispensing the sample into a test environment having a solid phase reaction medium in combination with a LAMP reagent mixture and a pH sensitive dye.

  • Publication number: 20220226817
Abstract: A liquid biological sample test cartridge is disclosed. The cartridge can include a tray. The cartridge can also include a chemical reaction pad supported by the tray. The cartridge can further include a chemical reaction pad cover disposed over the chemical reaction pad and coupled to the tray. The chemical reaction pad cover can have a sample opening to facilitate depositing a liquid biological sample at a predetermined location on the chemical reaction pad. In addition, the cartridge can include an outer cover operable to at least partially form an enclosure about the chemical reaction pad.

  • Publication number: 20220228956
Abstract: A heating device for testing a biological sample is disclosed. The heating device can include a heat source operable to generate heat. In addition, the heating device can include a controller in communication with the heat source and operable to control heat generation by the heat source to heat a biological sample at less than or equal to about 2 degrees C./s. Furthermore, a heating device for testing a biological sample is disclosed that can include a heat source operable to generate heat to heat a biological sample. The biological sample can be at least partially contained within a removable enclosure distinct from the heating device. Additionally, the heating device can include an enclosure interface associated with the heat source. The enclosure interface can be configured to interface with the enclosure such that heat is transferred from the heat source to the enclosure by conduction.

  • Patent number: 11256339
Abstract: Hexagonal keyboards, key support plates therefor, and methods of manufacture of hexagonal keyboards are described. An example hexagonal keyboard includes a plurality of hexagonal keys and a frame including a key support plate to support the plurality of hexagonal keys. A plurality of axle supports is molded into the key support plate. Each respective axle support of the plurality of axle supports is to pivotally support a respective hexagonal key about a respective hinge. The hexagonal keys are supported in a stepped hexagonal lattice arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20200375851
