  • Publication number: 20060218803
Abstract: A work table having a tool movable in a cutting direction. The work table includes a support surface having a work area for supporting a work piece and forming a cutting channel through the work area in the cutting direction. A guide bar is mounted with respect to the work area and extends along the work area in the cutting direction. The guide bar has a length along which the tool moves, a width and a height, wherein the width is greater than the height. A tool base including a saddle is positionable with respect to the guide bar and slidably movable along the guide bar with respect to the cutting channel. The tool is mountable on the tool base and has a blade aligned with the cutting channel.

  • Publication number: 20060093057
Abstract: A method for space-time-frequency coding pieces of data includes receiving a stream of a plurality of pieces of data in a multi-antenna transmission system, where the data may comprise a stream of orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) symbols, orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) symbols or the like. The pieces of data are then coded across space, time and frequency dimensions based upon a plurality of space-time-frequency (STF) codes. The pieces of data are coded such that one or more STF codes in the frequency dimension differ from one or more other STF codes in the frequency dimension. In this regard, the frequency dimension can include a plurality of frequency bins such that the pieces of data can be coded in a manner whereby the plurality of STF codes sequentially circulates through sets of at least one frequency bin in the frequency domain.

  • Patent number: 6932073
Abstract: A work table includes a work surface having two generally parallel bars extending across and above the work surface. Two sleeves are slidably connected to the two generally parallel bars, each sleeve of the two sleeves positioned around each bar of the two generally parallel bars. A power tool, such as a tile saw is connected between the two sleeves and thereby slides along the two bars. A channel is preferably positioned across the work surface and includes water or similar coolant/lubricant for the power tool. Handles are additionally positioned in the side of the work surface and are moveable between a retracted position within the work surface and an extended position away from the work surface. In the extended position, the handle includes a top edge generally flush with the work surface.

  • Patent number: 6900932
Abstract: An optical gain flattening filter for attenuating the wavelength power levels of an optical beam to a threshold value. The filter has a series of volume phase gratings which each have a loss spectrum. The sum of the loss spectra for the volume phase gratings is about equal to the opposite of the gain spectrum of the optical amplifier. As the optical beam passes through the volume phase gratings, the sum of the loss spectra is added to the gain spectrum of the optical amplifier such that the optical beam is attenuated to the threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20050051015
Abstract: A work table including a water tray defining a reservoir, and forming a ridge at least partially positioned within the reservoir and extending along a length of the water tray. A planar member having a work surface is positionable with respect to the water tray, and forms a channel extending through the work surface. The channel is aligned with the ridge and in fluid communication with the reservoir with the planar member positioned on the water tray.

  • Patent number: 6769423
Abstract: A tuck pointing blade includes at least two saw blades, each having multiple slots positioned radially around a perimeter, and a gap between a perimeter cutting surface of each adjacent saw blade. Each saw blade is arranged so that the multiple slots are offset relative to the multiple slots in each adjacent saw blade. In addition, the tuck pointing blade can be configured with three or more saw blades including adjacent blades having different physical properties and/or materials.

  • Publication number: 20040105144
Abstract: An optical amplifier system for amplifying an input wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) optical signal with a first optical coupler to extract a portion of the power of the input signal, an erbium-doped fiber amplifier to generate an output signal and a second optical coupler to extract a portion of the power of the output signal. A spectral monitoring unit having a volume phase grating separates the extracted input and output signals into spectral components. A photo-detector array of the spectral monitoring unit determines the power level of the spectral components. The system further includes a controller operative to control the operation of the amplifier in response to the power levels of the spectral components.

  • Publication number: 20030123791
Abstract: A device for expanding the wavelength band of an optical component is disclosed. The device has a beam splitter for splitting a wavelength division multiplexed beam into two beams at a desired separation angle. An optical grating separates the two beams into spectral components for each beam. The spectral components are focused on a receiving surface. The separation angle between the two beams expands the wavelength band of the WDM signal.
