  • Patent number: 11098158
Abstract: This invention relates to hybrid polyols useful in the manufacture of polyurethane. The hybrid polyols of the present invention is derived by copolymerizing or grafting a traditional polyester polyol onto a natural oil polyol. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the traditional polyester polyol grafted onto natural oil polyol contains a high level of bio-renewable content. The hybrid polyols of the present invention with high level of bio-renewable content is useful in the manufacture of polyurethane either alone or in combination with polyester polyol or polyether polyol derived from petrochemical sources.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 27, 2017
Date of Patent: August 24, 2021
Assignee: PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited
Inventors: Arne Matthew Terwillegar, Thidarat Tosukhowong, Charliss Denniston, Nuttara Jamonnak
  • Patent number: 10941240
Abstract: This invention provides a process for manufacturing high performance polyester polyols with high proportion of renewable content derived from biological sources. The polyester polyols with high content of renewable biological materials produced according to the present invention display no color or odor issues and are used in the manufacture of two component polyurethanes, thermoplastic urethanes, polyurethane dispersions and polyester and polyester/urethane acrylates with outstanding physical properties.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 25, 2017
Date of Patent: March 9, 2021
Assignee: PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited
Inventors: Arne Matthew Terwillegar, Charliss Denniston
  • Patent number: 10815381
Abstract: This invention relates to a thermally and/or high-energy radiation curable waterborne or 100% solid coating with high bio-based content. The coating formulation according to the present invention is derived or partially derived from melt polycondensation of a carboxylic acid and a diol with dicyclopentadiene-maleic acid half-ester or nadic acid-maleic acid half-ester or methyl nadic acid-maleic acid half-ester.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 20, 2016
Date of Patent: October 27, 2020
Assignee: PTT GLOBAL CHEMICAL PUBLIC COMPANY LIMITED
