Abstract: A quality sensor that predicts a degree of inhomogeneities in milk extracted from an animal, by receiving a set of input variables reflecting at least one characteristic each of the animal, the extracted milk, and at least process during which milk was extracted from the animal, and by feeding the input variables into a trained artificial neural network in the quality sensor, which generates an estimate of a predicted degree of inhomogeneities in the milk of the animal.

Abstract: A method, control unit and system for group feeding animals in a herd with different feeding groups based on an estimated energy need, where each respective feeding group has feed having different energy content, and where a control unit identifies an animal in a first feeding group, determines a Body Condition Score (BCS) of the animal, defines a position in lactation cycle of the animal, compares the BCS with a reference value corresponding to the position, and confirms that the animal is able to assimilate the feed and is kept in the correct feeding group when the determined BCS of the animal is within an interval defined by the reference value minus a first margin and the reference value in addition to a second margin.

Abstract: A hoof treatment arrangement arranged to spray a liquid onto hooves of animals while they are stationary in a stall of an animal arrangement includes an identification system configured to identify animals, an automatic detector arrangement configured to determine the hoof status for animals, an automatic spray device, and a control arrangement. The control arrangement is operatively connected to an information database of the animal arrangement, which includes animal specific information for a plurality of animals housed in the animal arrangement; the identification system, to obtain information regarding the identity of each of the plurality of animals; the automatic detector arrangement, to obtain information regarding the hoof status for each of the identified animals; and the automatic spray device, to control the automatic spray device.
