Abstract: A server device is provided, which includes a communicator configured to receive viewing log information from a display device; a storage configured to store content; and a controller configured to automatically extract a preference keyword based on the viewing log information, to select recommended content from the storage by searching the content that corresponds to the preference keyword, and to transmit information on the selected recommended content to the display device through the communicator.

Abstract: A method for selecting an icon through grouping, according to an exemplary embodiment, includes grouping a plurality of displayed icons into a plurality of groups according to a user's selection, allocating a different key of a plurality of keys on a remote controller to each one of the plurality of groups according to the user's selection, receiving a user's key selection signal corresponding to one of the plurality of keys which corresponds to one of the plurality of groups, moving a selection area from a current icon to a focus icon of a group including an icon desired by the user according to the user's key selection signal, moving the selection area from the focus icon to the desired icon according to an input of at least one direction key on the remote controller and selecting the desired icon.

Abstract: An optical reproducing apparatus and method capable of adjusting a size of a menu view. An user input unit selects a predetermined menu view mode among a plurality of menu view modes displaying a standard menu view in different sizes. A storage stores an image information of the standard menu view corresponding to a standard mode among the plurality of the menu view modes. A menu view generator generates a menu view corresponding to the predetermined menu view mode selected by the user input unit based on the stored image information. An output unit outputs the generated menu view to a display device being connected. A controller controls the menu view generator to adjust a size of the standard menu view based on the image information if the selected menu view mode is one of an enlargement mode or a reduction mode. Accordingly, it is possible to adjust the size of the menu view in consideration of the screen size of the display device.

Abstract: A system and method for providing information stored on an audio storage medium are provided. Predetermined information including song title information stored on an audio storage medium is displayed upon a user's request using an audio storage medium on which song title information about audio data is stored, thereby providing more information to a user. The system includes a reading unit reading audio data recorded on an audio storage medium and additional information related to the audio data, a key inputting unit into which a key signal value is inputted according to a user's key selection, and a controlling unit selectively outputting a first menu mode in which the additional information including titles of songs stored on the audio storage medium is provided, or a second menu mode in which information stored on the audio storage medium is not provided, according to the key signal value inputted into the key inputting unit.

Abstract: A data processing apparatus and method are disclosed. The apparatus and method comprise receiving a selection signal for a first mode of a plurality of color modes set in order to implement the information menu displayed as a plurality of pixels each having a first index. Identifying information is stored for a palette mapped to the selected first mode of a plurality of palettes stored for each of the plurality of color modes. Each of second indexes mapped to the each first indexes provided are stored for each color of the pixels from the palette corresponding to the stored identifying information when a display request signal for the information menu is received. The information menu is generated as a displayable signal using the read second indexes.
