  • Patent number: 4144616
Abstract: A wire guide bushing includes a thin-walled nylon tube which is outwardly flared at its proximal end, the border of the flared portion being folded forwardly to overly the flared portion outer face and form a double thickness wall. The tube is peripherally outwardly bulged shortly forwardly of the flared portion and the bushing is applied merely by inserting the bushing in a panel opening and forcing it past the bulge to embrace the opening border between the peripheral bulge and flared portion. In producing the guide bushing the tube is partially nested in a well in a block with the flared portion outermost and a tool with a cylindrical shank and an enlarged head with a concave underface is inserted in the tube and pressed downwardly against the flared portion edge to outwardly peripherally bulge the tube between the block and flared portion.

  • Patent number: 3957295
Abstract: A pipe coupling device includes an externally threaded first tubular coupling element engaged by an internally threaded second tubular element provided with an outer axially bored end wall and an annular nylon sealing member entrapped between the second element end wall and the confronting end face of the first element. The sealing member includes a tubular body section and a reversely curled outer end flange forming a cuff. In application, the second element is slipped onto the end of a pipe, the sealing member is then positioned on the pipe and the second element slid down to overlie the sealing member, then the first element is slipped onto the pipe, and the coupling elements are screw tightened to longitudinally and radially compress the sealing member into pressure engagement with the faces of the annular cavity delineated by the coupling elements and pipe, wherein a groove is formed on the pipe to lock the coupling in place on the pipe.

  • Patent number: 3943593
Abstract: A power driven cylindrical rotary brush includes a drive shaft having affixed adjacent to one end a first splined inwardly directed frusto-conical plug having a peripheral flange at its base and having affixed adjacent its opposite end a circular plate having circumferentially spaced tapped bores. A cylindrical brush core provided with helically wound bristles has one end engaging the first plug. A second plug similar to the first plug engages the opposite end of the brush core and is bolted to the circular plate and is urged toward the first plug to wedge and deform the opposite end borders of the core. The first plug may be secured to the shaft in the manner of the first plug.

  • Patent number: 3942931
Abstract: A machine for producing tubular fastener sealing members having rolled ends includes an apertured guide member cutting block backed by a pair of clamp members and which feeds tubular stock of resilient material between the clamp members through the guide block. A rotating knife is associated with the guide block and an axially reciprocating rotating shaft supports an edge rolling tool confronting and coaxial with the guide aperture. The components are motivated and sequenced to open the clamp until the tube is advanced to the tool, close the clamp, advance the tool to roll the tube leading edge, open the clamp and retract the tool which is followed by the tube, close the clamp, further retract the tool, and slice the finished product from the tube stock.
