  • Publication number: 20170181616
Abstract: The disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses relating to a speculum. The speculum includes a handle, a first bill and a second bill, where a proximal end portion of the first bill and the second bill are coupled to an upper portion of the handle and configured to open along a first axis, a third bill and a fourth bill, where a proximal end portion of the third bill and the fourth bill are coupled to the upper portion of the handle and configured to open along a second axis substantially orthogonal to the first axis and an actuation mechanism that causes the first bill and the second bill to move between an open position and a closed position. In some embodiments, the speculum includes a locking mechanism with a rocker mechanism, a lock strip contained in a handle of the speculum, and a pawl coupled to the handle.

  • Publication number: 20170181615
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an ergonomically designed vaginal speculum. The speculum includes a body portion comprising a handle configured to be grasped by a user of the speculum, a lower bill, and a transition portion between the handle and the lower bill. The speculum further includes an upper bill rotatably coupled to the lower bill at the transition portion, allowing the upper bill to move relative to the lower bill to move the speculum into an open position, a window frame coupled to the upper bill defining a viewing window, and an actuation mechanism coupled to the upper bill to cause separation of the upper bill from the lower bill. The transition portion creates an angle greater than 90 degrees between the handle and the lower bill. The speculum may further include a locking mechanism and an illumination source.

  • Publication number: 20080054622
Abstract: A facestock releasably adhered to a liner sheet is die cut to form one or two compact disc labels, and two diametrically opposed tabs on each compact disc label and located so that one edge of the tab is in contact with one of the compact disc labels and is perforated. The liner side of the tab also has a die cut patterned so that it generally follows the outline of the tab, but which forms a shape which is inside of and slightly smaller than the face cut tab pattern. After the label sheet has passed through a printer or copier and the desired indicia has been printed on the labels, at least one of the tabs is pushed through from the reverse side of the sheet, or pulled through via a sheet opening partially separating the tab from the rest of the sheet. The tab, which is mostly free of exposed adhesive in that it is still laminated to the die cut section of release liner, is then grasped from the face side, and lifted upward, pulling the compact disc label away from the label sheet.

  • Patent number: 6785127
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to an attachment apparatus for conveniently, securely, and releasably attaching a handheld device such as a handheld computer to a keyboard or other accessories. In some embodiments, the attachment apparatus is configured to be flexible or adjustable to accommodate differently sized handheld devices. In addition, an automatic switch on feature is implemented in some embodiments which allows the handheld device to be automatically switched on or off by manipulating the position of the attachment apparatus. In accordance with an aspect of the present invention, an apparatus for attaching a handheld device to a second device comprises an attachment device having a connector configured to be electrically connected to the handheld device. An adjustable mechanism is configured to adjustably connect the handheld device to the second device to move the handheld device relative to the second device between a first position and a second position.
