  • Patent number: 10096198
Abstract: A processor-based gaming machine running wager-based games can include an exterior housing, a master gaming controller, a display device, and an anonymous player tracking device adapted to detect passively biometric information from players to facilitate the anonymous tracking of gaming activities without the use of traditional player tracking instruments. A player tracking system can include multiple such gaming machines, a database storing a plurality of player profiles that include biometric data, and a remote player tracking server configured to receive passively detected biometric data regarding anonymous players, determine whether the received biometric data is associated with existing player profiles, attribute credit for the anonymous gaming activity if it is, and create a new player profile if it is not. Player profiles can include multiple biometrics for each player, and confidence levels can be associated with a given biometric to a profile and a given gaming session to a profile.

  • Patent number: 8702501
Abstract: Techniques for forming and using formal partnerships are disclosed. Two or more entities (e.g., individual players, groups, organizations) can form a partnership for the purpose of participating in one or more games. In effect, a game can be played for a partnership without the active participation of all the entities (or partners) that have formed the partnership. The game can, for example, be played by one or the partners or an authorized representative of the partnership. When a game is played on behalf of a partnership, the gaming activity is effectively tracked and verification data is stored for the partnership. Verification data can be made available to allow the partners to verify the outcome of the game.

  • Patent number: 8636590
Abstract: A gaming machine may be activated by an individual player for subsequent play by displaying to the gaming machine, without physical contact with the gaming machine, a card carried by the player. The card carries indicia which may include suitable electronic memory, to be sensed by apparatus associated with the gaming machine, to cause the wireless transfer of individualized data concerning the player from the card to the gaming machine or to a computer network that is associated with the gaming machine. The data is evaluated against a stored database, which database may include identification of the card holder. The data is then evaluated against the stored database, and the gaming machine is activated for subsequent play upon favorable evaluation of the data.
