Patent number: 12198699Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for displaying transcriptions of radio communication transcription for an aircraft. The method comprises capturing audio signals of radio communication traffic to and from the aircraft. The captured audio signals are preprocessed to divide the signals into independent spoken utterances. Each spoken utterance is transcribed using a speech recognition decoder that utilizes an air traffic control (ATC) speech recognition model and classification data is extracted from the transcription of each spoken utterance. The transcription of each spoken utterance is logged with reference to the classification data and a textual display of the transcription is provided to a crew member of the aircraft.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2022Date of Patent: January 14, 2025Assignee: HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC.Inventors: Chaya Garg, Vasantha Paulraj, Robert De Mers, Roger Burgin, Jitender Kumar Agarwal, Mahesh Kumar Sampath, Mohan M. Patent number: 11790909Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for validation of speech commands from an aircraft pilot. The method comprises receiving a speech command from the aircraft pilot with a voice communication device that is part of a cockpit system. Next, the speech command is decoded into a computer readable format. The decoded speech command is then checked against the present aircraft state as indicated by avionic sensors of the aircraft and against an approved pre-condition that is stored in a pre-condition database. The decoded speech command is validated if the decoded speech command is consistent with the present aircraft state and consistent with the approved pre-condition. An input to the cockpit system is updated to execute the speech command from the aircraft pilot if the decoded speech command is validated.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 2021Date of Patent: October 17, 2023Assignee: HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC.Inventors: Mahesh Kumar Sampath, Vasantha Selvi Paulraj, Chaya Garg, Anil Kumar Songa, Ravi Tupakula

Publication number: 20170210483Abstract: A method of evaluating pilot performance receives and processes avionics data at a database system. The database system computes component scores for the pilot based on the avionics data. Each component score represents a performance grade for a pilot-controlled operation of the aircraft. The database system saves the component scores in association with a pilot performance record for the pilot, and calculates an overall score based on the component scores. The overall score represents a flight performance grade for the pilot. The database system saves the overall score in association with the pilot performance record, and generates a report derived from the component scores and the overall score. A graphical representation of the report is communicated to an electronic device.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2016Publication date: July 27, 2017Applicant: HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL INC.Inventors: Christopher Hamblin, Wendy Foslien, Chaya Garg, Andrew Grimm, William Rogers, Srini Muktevi, Suresh Bazawada
