Patents by Inventor Che-Nan Sun

Che-Nan Sun has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Publication number: 20180323445
Abstract: Porous carbon felt electrodes for a redox flow battery can be improved by suitably oxidizing the porous carbon felt or by oxidizing carbon particles impregnated into the porous carbon felt. The electrode resistance and voltage efficiency of cells comprising such electrodes can be substantially improved. The invention is particularly suitable for use in vanadium redox flow batteries.

  • Patent number: 10102982
Abstract: A supercapacitor and a related electrolyte composition suitable for use in a supercapacitor are provided. An electrolyte composition can include a conductive sodium salt component comprising NaTFSI and a non-aqueous solvent component comprising dimethoxy ethane (DME). The conductive sodium salt component and the non-aqueous solvent component can be present at a molar ratio of NaTFSI:DME of 1:1 to 1:3, inclusive.

  • Publication number: 20150072261
Abstract: An electrochemical flow type battery may include at least one electrode and a separator. The electrode may include carbon fibers and/or carbon particles, and has an internal surface area density of at least 1 m2/g. The separator may separate an anode side and a cathode side of the battery. A flat surface of the electrode directly contacts a surface of the separator.
