Patent number: 7544081Abstract: The second connector 2 has an inner housing 4 and an outer housing 5 that covers the outer peripheries of the inner housing 4, forming a gap S1 for insertion of the first connector 14 therebetween. A receiving cavity S2 is provided for insertion of the mating sensing member 8, and inside which is provided a pair of first stopper projections 51, a second stopper projections 52 and an elastically deformable locking arm 7, front end of which is a free extremity. The locking arm 7 is provides at the front end portion 7C with a pushing portion 72 and a first stopper 74 on each of the two sides. The mating sensing member 8 has a pair of elastically deformable first and second fingers 8A, 8B positioned opposing each other in parallel and they have an actuation portion 80 and a stopper engaging portion 8D.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 2008Date of Patent: June 9, 2009Assignee: MEA Technologies Pte. Patent number: 7479025Abstract: An electrical connector includes a first connector part that has a male housing with an engaging portion formed on the outer periphery thereof; a second connector part 2 that has a female housing 3 provided with a portion defining a cavity for receiving the male housing; a sensor 7 that senses the mated state of the first and second parts; and a lock 6 that locks the first and second parts in the mated state at a regular mating position. The lock 6 is made of a clip member made of a spring wire-like body and has first latch portions 63A, 66A and a second latch portion 67A. The sensor 7 is made of a sliding sensing member having a sensing arm 73 made of a resilient piece provided with an engaging portion 73a? that latches into the second latch portion 67A.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2007Date of Patent: January 20, 2009Assignee: MEA Technologies Pte. Ltd.Inventors: Kien Sheng Lee, Chee Boon Vincent Lim

Patent number: 7435113Abstract: An electric connector includes a connector body 2 having contacts, and a connector housing 10. The connector housing 10 has a cavity 12, for housing the connector body 2, and an operation lever 16. The connector body 2 is inserted into the cavity 12, and the electric connector is engaged with another connector by rotating the operation lever 16. The connector housing 10 has a sensing member 13 on one of its sidewalls. The sensing member 13 resiliently changes its shape according to insertion conditions of the connector body 2, either rising from the sidewall or flat on the sidewall. The sensing member 13 detects the insertion conditions of the connector body 2 in the cavity 12. The operation lever 16 hits the sensing member 13 when the sensing member rises from the sidewall, and rotation of the operation lever 16 is blocked. With this configuration, connection between the connector body 2 having the contacts and the connector housing 10 that houses the connector body 2 is properly made.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2007Date of Patent: October 14, 2008Assignees: J.S.T. Mfg. Co., Ltd., MEA Technologies Pte. Ltd.Inventors: Yong Terng Cheng, Chee Boon Vincent Lim, Akira Nagamine

Patent number: 7404731Abstract: The electrical connector 1 according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a male connector 13 having a male housing 14 with a first latch part 1, a female connector 2 having a female housing with an inserting hole, and a connector position assurance (CPA) 9. The first latch part 1 has first and second latch protrusions P1, P2, and the female connector 2 has an elastic latch arm 8 with a latch pawl at a leading edge part of the female connector. The CPA 9 includes a first finger piece 92 having a first bent protrusion D1, second finger pieces 91, 93 each having a second bent protrusion D2, and a spring-force-accumulated part. The first and second finger pieces of the CPA 9 are attached between the elastic latch arm and one inner wall surface. While the two connectors 2, 13 are fitted, the male connector slides the CPA backward.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2007Date of Patent: July 29, 2008Assignee: MEA Technologies, Pte.
