Publication number: 20200398015Abstract: In response to the global shortages of medical ventilator due to emergence of COVID-19 pandemic, the expansion of ventilator availability can be realized by having a Compensated Split Ventilator Circuit fitted into a mechanical ventilator. Hence, a single ventilator may be shared by two patients simultaneously with moderately different lung resistances and compliances. The Compensated Split Ventilator Circuit enables for differential gas volume between two patients by adjusting the valves in the inspiratory and expiratory circuits to control the optimized amount of gas flow to each patient individually. Embodiments of the present invention may be implemented using off-the-shelf medical-grade components to ensure product durability and patient safety.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 4, 2020Publication date: December 24, 2020Inventors: Chee Foo Lum, Hock Chye P'Ng, Keng Leong Loo, Phil Stearns

Patent number: 8605035Abstract: An optical finger navigation (OFN) device includes an OFN sensor module, a light source, and a vertical light guide. The OFN sensor module is coupled to a circuit substrate. The OFN sensor module generates a navigation signal in response to a movement detected at a navigation surface based on light reflected from a user's finger. The light source is also coupled to the circuit substrate. The light source generates light (which is separate from the light generated for the OFN sensor module). The vertical light guide is disposed to circumscribe a perimeter of the OFN sensor module. The vertical light guide receives the light from the light source and guides the light toward a light emission surface at a perimeter surface area circumscribing the navigation surface.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2010Date of Patent: December 10, 2013Assignee: Avago Technologies General IP (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.Inventors: Chee Foo Lum, Hun Kwang Lee
