Abstract: A micro-light emitting diode (uLED) device comprises: a mesa comprising: a plurality of semiconductor layers including an n-type layer, an active layer, and a p-type layer; a p-contact layer contacting the p-type layer; a cathode contacting the first sidewall of the n-type layer; a first region of dielectric material that insulates the p-contact layer, the active layer, and a first sidewall of the p-type layer from the cathode; an anode contacting the top surface of the p-contact layer; and a second region of dielectric material that insulates the active layer, a second sidewall of the p-type layer, and the second sidewall of the n-type layer from the anode. The top surface of the p-contact layer has a different planar orientation compared to the first and second sidewalls of the n-type layer. Methods of making and using the uLED devices are also provided.

Abstract: A padlock having a removable or interchangeable shackle is disclosed. The padlock comprises a lock body and a shackle, the shackle being movable in an axial direction between a locked position and an unlocked position, the short leg being withdrawn from the lock body in the unlocked position. The padlock also comprises a retaining shaft receivable within a corresponding bore of the lock body, wherein the long leg includes a longitudinal recess for providing a travel path for the movement of the shackle from a locked position defined by the retaining shaft engaging a first end of the longitudinal recess to an unlocked position defined by the retaining shaft engaging a second end of the longitudinal recess to prevent the shackle from being removed from the lock body when the shackle is in the unlocked position.

A body weight may be predicted by capturing at least one image of a human, and determining, from the image, a body weight prediction of the human by processing the at least one image with a data processor. The body weight prediction may further be based on an age-based weight factor. A model such as a neural network model may be used to predict body weight.

Abstract: Presented is a system and method for determining a total cost of a foreign originating product in a customer's local currency. The system allows a customer to shop via electronic methods regardless of a merchant's location country and receive the total final cost of the product in the customer's local currency. Currency exchange, duties and tariffs, taxes and shipping are included in the given total cost of the product. The system also includes a duty estimation system for estimating duty charges prior to a product crossing an international border is disclosed. The product is categorized according to product categories set by each country.
