Abstract: A filter assembly for use with a brewer to form a brewed beverage from a beverage brewing substance. The filter assembly is arranged in a funnel of the brewer and a dose of beverage brewing substance is arranged on the filter assembly within the funnel. A solution is controllably dispensed by the brewer over the beverage brewing substance to form the brewed beverage. A mesh of the filter assembly allows the brewed beverage to pass though the filter assembly. A gasket of the filter assembly engages with an inner surface of the funnel to retain the retain the beverage brewing substance within the funnel against the filter assembly and prohibit the beverage brewing substance from bypassing the mesh of the filter assembly.
