Abstract: A technique of providing a cryptographic service on a computer having a processor includes deploying an executable cryptographic agent set on the computer, each executable cryptographic agent from the executable cryptographic agent set being a set of instructions executed on the processor. The technique also includes activating an executable cryptographic agent on the computer, each executable cryptographic agent being constructed and arranged to generate cryptographic codes which change over time in response to activation of the agent. The technique further includes providing, to an application running on the computer, access to the executable cryptographic agent through a Personal Computer/Smart Card (PC/SC) interface of the computer.

Access to an application is obtained using the data in the user profile, e.g., through automatic completion of forms or screens within an application. In addition, the user profile may be employed to limit user access to parts of an application, or to terminate a user's access to an application.

Abstract: A tubing installation checking device is provided for determining proper installation of a tubing along a tube receiving channel in a peristaltic pump of the type having a tube receiving channel and a door for holding a tubing therein. The tubing installation checking device includes a pressure sensor held in the peristaltic pump positioned along the tube receiving channel downstream from the pumping mechanism for sensing pressure in the tubing and for providing a signal representing the sensed pressure. A valve is provided held in the peristaltic pump along the tube receiving channel downstream from the pressure sensor for closing the tubing when it is installed in the tube receiving channel.
