  • Patent number: 7899250
Abstract: A method capable of detecting a scoreboard in a program includes detecting a region which displays static images in a program having a plurality of frames, identifying the text contents of the region, and determining whether the variation in the text contents is larger than a predetermined value and occurs conforming to a predetermined rule. If the variation in the text contents is larger than the predetermined value and occurs conforming to the predetermined rule, the method signifies that the region displays the static images corresponding to a scoreboard.

  • Patent number: 7529464
Abstract: A method for implementing an adaptive mixing energy ratio between at least two soundtracks of video footage in a video image-editing environment is disclosed, the process being transparent to a user beyond a single step of initiation. The method includes applying at least one video/audio analysis technique to a session of video footage, demarcating the footage into a plurality of segments, determining a mixing energy ratio for each of the segments according to the analysis, and interpolating the mixing energy ratios for the segments to produce a mixing energy ratio profile before applying the mixing energy ratio profile to the session of video footage.

  • Publication number: 20080269924
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method of summarizing a sports video. The method includes the following steps: selecting at least a summarization style, wherein the summarization style is defined with at least an event; analyzing the sports video to extract at least a scene segment from the sports video corresponding to the at least one event defined in the summarization style; and summarizing the sports video based on the at least one scene segment to generate a summarized video corresponds to the summarization style.

  • Publication number: 20070280635
Abstract: A method dynamically adjusts recording time based on the difference of the video/audio characteristics between two consecutive image clips in a designated program. First, the method receives data signals corresponding to a designated program including a plurality of consecutive image clips and commercial clips, each of which is broadcast between two corresponding images clips. The method begins to record the data signals at a predetermined start time. Next, the method compares the video/audio characteristic of a first image clip broadcast before a reference commercial clip and a second image clip broadcast directly after the reference commercial clip. If the difference of the video/audio characteristics between the first and second image clips is larger than a predetermined value, the method stops recording the data signals.

  • Publication number: 20070242926
Abstract: A method for video program processing includes searching for a static image in a video segment, a static image comprising an image in the video segment that does not significantly change over a predetermined time of the video segment. Upon finding a static image, an indication is given to an image processor that the video segment is a program segment.
