  • Patent number: 8985470
Abstract: A code pattern having cross-shaped positioning patterns is disclosed, comprising: a plurality of marks, which at least include a central positioning mark, a first positioning mark, a second positioning mark, a third positioning mark, and a fourth positioning mark; the central and the first to fourth positioning marks are distributed in a region along with other marks. The first to fourth positioning marks are four neighboring marks that are closest to the central positioning mark in distance. In addition, The central and the first to fourth positioning marks are disposed in the shape of a cross within the region, and corresponding to a coordinate obtained by adding together four coordinates from the first to fourth positioning marks then dividing a resulted sum thereof by four, is equivalent to a coordinate corresponding to the central positioning mark.

  • Patent number: 8180155
Abstract: A decoding method for a two dimensional dot code includes the steps of defining coordinates of boundary dots in the two dimensional dot code, performing extrapolation and interpolation according to the coordinates of the boundary dots to create coordinates of a plurality of virtual code dots, and comparing a code dot in the two dimensional dot code with the virtual code dots to extract information intended to be reproduced from the two dimensional dot code.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 4, 2008
Date of Patent: May 15, 2012
    Assignee: Elan Microelectronics Corporation
    Inventors: Chen-Hua Ao, Yi-Hsin Tao
  • Patent number: 7942341
Abstract: A two dimensional dot code includes boundary dots, a direction dot and a code dot to regenerate an information therefrom. To decode the two dimensional dot code, the boundary dots and the direction dot are used to define coordinates of virtual code dots first and then, the code dot is compared with the coordinates of the virtual code dots. Thus, in order to retrieve the information represented by the two dimensional dot code, the position of the code dot can be rapidly determined without rotational correction of the image taken from the two dimensional dot code.
