  • Patent number: 7591685
Abstract: An audio jack connector includes an insulative housing and a conductive contact retained in the insulative housing. The insulative housing defines a plug receiving hole for receiving a mating plug and a mounting space located at one side of the plug receiving hole. The conductive contact has a stationary portion received in the mounting space, a spring arm forwardly extending from the stationary portion and a curly contact portion extending backwardly from the spring arm and protruding into the plug receiving hole. The curly contact portion includes opposite first and second ends in condition that the first end connects with the spring arm and the second end abuts against an inner surface of the spring arm.

  • Patent number: 7588456
Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing (2) having a base portion (20) with a front face (200) and a rear face (204), and a protection portion (22) extending backwardly from the rear face (204). The protection portion (22) defines a receiving cavity (222) opening at a rear end thereof. The base portion (20) defines a plurality of passageways (201) extending therethrough and communicating with the receiving cavity (222). A plurality of power contacts (3) are retained on the insulative housing (2). Each power contact (3) has a securing portion (300, 310) positioned in the passageway (201), a columned contact portion (301, 311) and a bending portion (302, 312) extending from two ends of the securing portion (300, 310) respectively. The bending portion (302, 312) is received in the receiving cavity (222) for dissipating heat best. A metal shield (4) has a flat portion (40) affixed to the front face (200) and a mating portion (41) extending forwardly from the flat portion (40).

  • Publication number: 20090011629
Abstract: An electrical connector (100) includes an insulative housing (10) defining a receiving hole for accommodating a mating plug, a first set of and a second set of switch terminals (21, 22, 23, 24, 25), and a flexible terminal (27) positioned between the switch terminals (21, 22, 23, 24, 25). The flexible terminal (27) has a retaining portion (270), a flexible arm (271) bent from the retaining portion (270) and a contact portion (275) formed on the flexible arm (271). The switch terminals (21, 22, 23, 24, 25) abut against the plug in a left-to-right direction. The flexible terminal (27) abuts against the mating plug in an up-to-down direction to provide a great insertion force in order to reach a good inserting or pulling feeling of the mating plug.
