  • Publication number: 20050204138
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system and method for an email screen saver. In one example, the method includes monitoring for activity and, if no activity is detected within a predefined period of time, activating a screen saver. If a message is received, the method determines whether the screen saver is active and identifies a message notification configuration if the screen saver is active, where the message notification configuration identifies at least one user-defined destination at which a user is to be notified. The user is notified of the received message at the destination. An authorization routine is then executed to determine whether the user has entered a correct authorization code, and the message is provided to the user at the destination without disabling the screen saver if the user has entered the correct authorization code.
