    Abstract: An electrical connection system for an optoelectronic socket comprises an optoelectronic socket (1), an OE package (2) assembled to the optoelectronic socket (1), and a circuit board (4). The optoelectronic socket (1) comprises a plurality of passageways (104) embedded with an optical member (12) respectively, and a number of electrical contacts. The OE package (2) comprises a plurality of lenses (20) located at bottom portion thereof and a plurality of electrical pads (22) located at peripheral of the bottom portion. Bottom end of the lens (20) of the OE package (2) are received in the passageway (104) and the electrical pads (22) contact with the electrical contacts (14). The optical member (12) is received in recess on upper face of the circuit board (4) and connects with a waveguide (40) positioned in the recess. The electrical contact is soldered to the circuit board.

The two supporting portions seat on the third, fourth sides respectively, thus making a gap formed between the supporting portions and opposite end of corresponding sides respectively.

The lower legs received in the bottom holes can hold the fusible members and be soldered to the PCB through the fusible members.

The metallic cover is able to rotate around the resilient portion. The locking portion and the resilient portion extend from opposite sides of the main portion, respectively. The locking portion is able to be locked and released to a locking member (32) which is fixed to the PCB. The locking portion is driven by a screwdriver (5) to release or lock to the locking member (32). The CPU socket provides a solution for locking or releasing from the PCB without a lever, which is used to lock or release the metallic cover.

The protruding finger resists the stiffener when the load plate deflects on a top-to-bottom direction relative to the stiffener. The protruding finger also can engage with the stiffener to guide the load plate to rotate in a correct direction.
