  • Patent number: 11954453
Abstract: Systems and methods for natural language generation by an edge computing device are disclosed. In one embodiments, a method comprises: receiving, by an edge computing device, event data from an edge event; determining, by the edge computing device, that a network connection to a cloud server is not available; extracting, by the edge computing device, features of the event data; predicting, by a local neural network of the edge computing device, an action for the edge computing device to take based on the features of the event data, wherein the action is associated with a confidence level; and determining, by the edge computing device, whether the confidence level meets a predetermined threshold value.

  • Patent number: 11955026
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and computer system for public speaking guidance is provided. A processor retrieves speaker data regarding a speech made by a user. A processor separates the speaker data into one or more speaker modalities. A processor extracts one or more speaker features from the speaker data for the one or more speaker modalities. A processor generates a performance classification based on the one or more speaker features. A processor sends to the user guidance regarding the speech based on the performance classification.

  • Publication number: 20120260116
Abstract: An external power-saving USB mass storage device has a USB interface, a USB controller, an interface unit, a device controller and a memory unit. The USB controller has a sleep mode determination process embedded therein for predicting when a USB host plugged in by the USB mass storage device will not access the memory unit of the USB mass storage device for a prolonged time, and activates a sleep mode of the device controller through the interface unit so as to instruct the device controller and the memory unit to enter a power-down state for power-saving purpose.

  • Patent number: 7057565
Abstract: A multi-band flat antenna has multiple compressed dielectric substrates on which printed circuits are formed and interconnected to constitute first, second and third radiation units to supply three frequency bands. The first radiation unit is created by multiple circuits of different shapes that are interconnected to form a three-dimensional configuration. The second radiation unit is created by an L-shaped circuit and electrically connects to the first radiation unit at a common feeding node. The third radiation unit is formed by a crooked conductive wire. With the foregoing configuration, the size is minimized as far as possible. By properly adjusting the circuit length of the first/third radiation units as well as the second radiation unit, it is easy to acquire a desired resonance frequency value and ratio.

  • Patent number: 6958728
Abstract: A flat antenna has multiple overlapped dielectric substrates on which printed circuits are formed and interconnected to constitute first and second radiation units to supply a dual-operation frequency band. The first radiation unit is created by multiple circuits with different shapes that are interconnected to form a three-dimensional configuration. The second radiation unit is created by an L-shaped circuit and electrically connects to the first radiation unit at a common feeding node. By properly adjusting the circuit length of the first radiation unit or the second radiation, it is easy to acquire a desired resonance frequency value and frequency ratio.
