  • Publication number: 20050188386
Abstract: A springing device including a moveable piece and an elastic object is provided. The moveable piece is disposed between the aperture and the tray and is able to swing. The first end of the moveable piece is pivotally connected to the internal of the casing and the pivotal connection is used as a supporting point of swinging, the second end of the moveable piece is pivotally connected to the baffler. The elastic object is connected to the moveable piece. When the tray is disposed within the optical disc drive, the elastic object sustains the moveable piece and the baffler, enabling the baffler to close the aperture. When the tray moves towards the aperture until touching the moveable piece, the moveable piece, which receives a force and swings, will apply a force onto the elastic object and move the baffler to slide, enabling the baffler to open the aperture.

  • Publication number: 20050188396
Abstract: An apparatus for clamping a disk comprises a clamper and a turntable. The clamper having a first cushion member is disposed on a bottom side of the clamper. The turntable is movably disposed relative to the clamper thereby clamping the disk between the turntable and the clamper. When the turntable is moved toward the bottom side of the clamper, one of the turntable and the disk touches the first cushion member first and then the clamper attaches to the turntable tightly for clamping the disk between the clamper and the turntable, therefore a striking force generated from the impact of one of the turntable and the disk on the clamper is reduced by the first cushion member.

  • Publication number: 20050188392
Abstract: An emergent disc-ejection device applied in a disc player having a bottom casing and a disc accessing body is provided. The bottom casing has a via hole, while the disc accessing body is disposed on the bottom casing. The emergent disc-ejection device includes a tray, an active element and a connecting rod. The tray carries a disc to enter and leave the disc accessing body. The active element is coupled to the tray for carrying the tray to be ejected from the disc accessing body. The connecting rod and the disc accessing body are connected via a pin joint. By inserting a probe into the via hole along a first direction to provide an applying force to the force receiving portion, the force applying portion will push the active element along a second direction, enabling the active element to carry the tray to be ejected from the disc accessing body.

  • Publication number: 20030099167
Abstract: A disc loading device for an optical disc drive that discriminates between standard sized optical discs and other objects. In the disc-loading device, two one-degree-of-freedom detecting arms are disposed near the slot of the optical disc drive. An edge sensor including an emitting component and a receiving component is disposed between two detecting arms. A control unit receives data from the detecting arms and the edge sensor when the edge sensor detects the periphery of an object inserted into the optical disc drive. The data is used to calculate the size of the inserted object. By comparing the measured size with the standard sizes of optical discs, the disc loading device can determine whether or not the inserted object is an optical disc or another object. If the control unit determines that the inserted object is not an optical disc, the object is unloaded.
