  • Patent number: 7263468
Abstract: A method of storing a data access record is described. The method of storing the records employs a micro control unit (MCU) to execute the control steps of the data access records and store the records in a non-volatile random access memory (NVRAM) in the network communication device. The boot timing is written in the NVRAM while a host system starts up and is used to login one or more client computer systems. The data access records are completely written in the NVRAM of the network communication device when the client computer systems are controlled by the host computer system. Additionally, the data access records stored in the NVRAM can be exported to a network attached storage (NAS) to expand the capacity of the NVRAM when the storage capacity for the data access records runs out or backup timing is due.

  • Publication number: 20040193864
Abstract: A system and method for actively booting a computer system, according to the present invention, are capable of controlling a CPU of the computer system to selectively access boot codes from either an XIP type or non-XIP type memory devices attached in the computer system to initiate an operating system of the computer system.

  • Publication number: 20040186949
Abstract: An XIP system and method for serial memory used between a host and the serial memory are described. The XIP system receives information including at least an access signal and a parallel access address from the host, transforms the parallel access address into a serial access address, and generates a serial command according to the access signal. The serial command and the serial access address are combined into a serial data combination and the serial data combination is then transmitted to the serial memory. After receiving the serial data combination, the serial memory performs access operations according to the serial data combination.
