    Abstract: The invention discloses a multi-stream video system, a video monitoring device and a multi-stream video transmission method. The multi-stream video system includes at least one video capturing device and a video monitoring device. Each video capturing device is used for generating a plurality of video streams with different video specifications at the same time. The video monitoring device forms a telecommunication to each of the video capturing devices. When the video monitoring device performs an application operation, the video monitoring device selects and receives at least one video stream from each of the video capturing devices according to a video requirement of the application operation.

    Abstract: A method for executing data compression is used with a first surveillance host and a second surveillance host communicated with each other via a network. The second surveillance includes a memory device. At first, the first surveillance host compresses video signals into first compressed video data according to a first compression method and uploads the first compressed video data to the network. Next, the second surveillance host downloads the first compressed video data generated by the first surveillance host via the network. Then, the second surveillance host compresses the first compressed video data into second compressed video data according to a second compression method and stores the second compressed video data in the memory device. The second compressed video data has a higher compression ratio than the first compressed video data.

The motion detection module detects real-time video data and determines whether the video data is in a motion status. When the real-time video data is not in the motion status, the video processing module records the real-time video data into the storage medium with a second resolution.

    Abstract: A method for rapid and precise detecting of an omnidirectional postnet bar code on an object by digital signal processing is provided. In order to rapidly and accurately detect omnidirectional postnet bar codes, a two-dimensional digital image containing the postnet bar code is acquired, filtered and dilated to form a block dominated by a plurality of black-colored pixels. Then a down sampled image is provided and match filtered with a two-dimensional matched filtering output to indicate a best-matched filter, thus determining a postnet bar code location and orientation by associating matched filters with an orientation angle of the omnidirectional postnet bar code.
