  • Publication number: 20130200455
Abstract: A method for performing a stress memorization technique (SMT) a FinFET and a FinFET having memorized stress effects including multi-planar dislocations are disclosed. An exemplary embodiment includes receiving a FinFET precursor with a substrate, a fin structure on the substrate, an isolation region between the fin structures, and a gate stack over a portion of the fin structure. The gate stack separates a source region of the fin structure from a drain region of the fin structure and creates a gate region between the two. The embodiment also includes forming a stress-memorization technique (SMT) capping layer over at least a portion of each of the fin structures, isolation regions, and the gate stack, performing a pre-amorphization implant on the FinFET precursor by implanting an energetic doping species, performing an annealing process on the FinFET precursor, and removing the SMT capping layer.

  • Publication number: 20130203384
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a network device and/or method for determination of leveled security key holders for a wireless client in a wireless network. The network device detects a roaming or connection pattern of one or more wireless clients in the wireless network based on requests received from the wireless clients. Furthermore, the network device determines one or more selecting rules for selecting an appropriate key holder for the wireless client among a plurality of network devices. Next, the network device prioritizes the one or more selecting rules, and selects the appropriate key holder based on the determined rules and their corresponding prioritization. Through selection of appropriate key holders, the disclosed method provides for better load balancing among possible leveled key holders, and shortens the latencies experienced by wireless clients during fast basic service set transition.

  • Publication number: 20130196708
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a network device and/or method for pro-active propagation of second level security keys (e.g., PMK-R1) to a wireless client's neighboring wireless network devices. The wireless network device derives a first level security key (e.g., PMK-R0) and one or more second level security keys (e.g., PMK-R1) during an initial mobility domain association initiated by the wireless client. Then, the wireless network device determines a subset of wireless network devices in the neighborhood of the wireless client to which it may pro-actively propagate one or more second level security keys corresponding to the wireless client prior to the wireless client initiating a Fast BSS Transition (FT) to any network device in the subset. This would reduce the duration of time that data connectivity is lost between the wireless client and the network during the FT process.

Abstract: Transfer sets are disclosed in the present patent. The transfer set provides a connection between a source of peritoneal dialysis fluid and a patient for whom peritoneal dialysis has been prescribed. The transfer sets disclosed herein are smaller and provide a more compact and convenient device by which a dialysis patient controls the flow of dialysis fluid to and from the peritoneum of the patient. The devices are more compact and convenient because they include more convenient mechanisms for starting and stopping flow of the dialysis fluid. It is also easy to determine whether the mechanism is in a closed or open configuration by simply looking at the mechanism.

  • Patent number: 8184219
Abstract: A stacked storage capacitor structure for use in each pixel of a TFT-LCD, wherein a first storage capacitor is formed by a first metal layer, a gate insulator layer and a second metal layer. The second capacitor is formed by the second metal layer, a passivation insulator layer and an ITO layer. The first metal layer and the ITO layer are joined together through a via hole which is etched in one insulator etching step during the overall fabrication process through both the gate insulator and the passivation insulator layers. As such, the two capacitors are connected in parallel in a stacked configuration. With the stacked storage capacitor structure, the charge storage capacity is increased without significantly affecting the aperture ratio of a pixel. The ITO and the pixel electrode can be different parts of an indium tine oxide layer deposited on the passivation insulator layer.

  • Patent number: 8180574
Abstract: A simplified peritoneal equilibration test (S-PET) is disclosed. Instead of a lengthy peritoneal equilibration test (PET), the simplified procedure requires no blood sample and may use data from as few as two or three samples to classify a peritoneal membrane of a user. Typically, a peritoneal membrane or peritoneum of a dialysis patient, or other person, is classed as a high transport membrane, high-average transport membrane, a low-average transport membrane or a low transporter membrane. The S-PET may be performed at home by a user without the need to submit a blood sample. Kits for analyzing the samples may be furnished for home use. The kits may use disposable strips, microfluidic analyzers or chemical reagents, or may alternatively include reusable analysis equipment, such as optical or conductivity analysis equipment.

  • Publication number: 20120071815
Abstract: The present system and method in one embodiment limit a maximum instantaneous peritoneal volume to a comfortable level, while allowing the dialysis machine to advance to fill a prescribed volume whenever the drain ends after a minimum drain percentage has been attained. If a low drain condition occurs, the nominal fill volume is lowered and a therapy cycle is added, so that a prescribed total amount of fresh therapy fluid is used during therapy, maximizing therapeutic benefit. An allowable residual volume at the end of an incomplete drain is increased, thereby lowering the probability of a subsequent low drain condition.
