In an embodiment, a toilet lid or seat includes a core structural layer having a shape and size associated with the toilet lid, and having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, wherein the core structural layer comprises fiber reinforced cement board or fiber reinforced calcium silicate board. In another embodiment, a toilet lid includes a core structural layer having a shape and size associated with the toilet lid, and having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, wherein the core structural layer comprises sintered stone.
