  • Patent number: 8087561
Abstract: A powder-actuated fastener-driving device includes a barrel mounted in a housing. The barrel has a barrel wall formed with a through hole communicating with a radial vent hole. The through hole and the vent hole constitute an exhaust passage. A driving piston is mounted movably within the barrel, and has a rear end portion cooperating with an inner annular surface of the barrel wall to define an annular gap therebetween. A power adjusting unit includes an adjusting member disposed movably in the housing, and operable to move a control end portion thereof within the through hole so as to control an effective open area of the exhaust passage such that combustion gases discharge from a firing chamber defined between the driving piston and a rear end portion of the barrel through the gap and the effective open area, thereby controlling venting of combustion gases from the firing chamber.

  • Publication number: 20080041911
Abstract: A powder actuated tool with a safety trigger lock device has a handle assembly, a barrel assembly and a switch. The handle assembly has a trigger. The trigger is mounted pivotally in the handle assembly and has an actuating edge. The barrel assembly is mounted in the handle assembly and has a firing mechanism and a sear corresponding to the trigger. The switch has an actuating rod mounted rotatably in a handle assembly and has a surface and a recess. The recess is defined in the surface of the actuating rod and selectively receives the actuating edge of the trigger. Users can turn the switch to make the recess receives the actuating edge of the trigger to allow the trigger pivoting or to make the surface of the actuating rod abut the actuating edge of the trigger to keep the trigger from pivoting.

  • Patent number: 6428248
Abstract: A punch for producing decorative cutouts includes a base with a die secured thereto, a cutter mounted above the die and urgeable downward therethrough by a lever pivotally secured to the base, at least one spring compressed between the base and an under face of the cutter, and an ejector mounted in an upper face of the die. The cutter includes an inner leading edge, an outer trailing edge, an inclined periphery extending between the inner and outer edges, and at least one central cutting edge. The die has an outer profile configured to mate with the edges of the cutter, and at least one inner profile configured to mate with the central cutting edge. An ejector is mounted in a recess surrounding the outer profile of the die, whereby cutouts are ejected efficiently from the punch.

  • Patent number: 6089137
Abstract: A paper punch has an inner punch and an outer punch movably received with respect to each other. The outer punch has a first contour punch so as to be able to punch a hole in a piece of paper with the same contour as that of the first contour punch, and the inner punch has a second contour punch so as to punch a small hole in a piece of paper with the same contour as that of the second contour punch. Because the second contour punch moves first and the first and the second contour punches are placed concentrically, a piece of paper is then able to be punched twice by the first and the second contour punches to have an attractive shape.

  • Patent number: 5962804
Abstract: An actuating device for a dynamite gun includes a barrel member having a first tube slidably mounted to a second tube which is fixedly connected to the barrel member, a bar removably received in the second tube. The first tube has a first slot and a first enlarged hole, and the second tube has a second slot and a second enlarged hole, wherein the second slot is wider than the first slot. A function rod is movably received in a stepped hole defined transversely in the bar and has three sections with different outer diameters so as to extend through the first and the second slot. An actuating member pivotally disposed to the gun and has a recess defined in a top thereof so that if the actuating member is operated before the first tube is pushed rearwardly, the lower end of the function rod will be received in the recess and the gun does not function.

  • Patent number: 5715983
Abstract: A firing mechanism for a staple gun is configured so that a user is able to use an extension rod as a media to activate the ignition of gun powder, wherein a firing pin receives a linear force transferred by the extension rod and reacts in a same direction as the force. After the ignition of the gun powder, the firing pin will be pushed back by an internal energy received by the mechanism when the external force of the extension rod is being applied. Accordingly, the mechanism is again ready for a next firing cycle.

  • Patent number: 5699948
Abstract: An adjusting mechanism for use in a staple gun includes an adjuster which is movably received within a slot defined in an outer tube and communicating with a chamber thereof, such that the movement of the adjuster will change the space within the chamber and therefore alter a thrust generated by an explosion of cartridge and which impacts agsinst a staple releasably received within the staple gun.
